This is the punch (no pun intended) line I have always heard.

See argh, it was a joke, heard by many, an oldie that yours truly didn't write. And the phrase 'too soon' is message board fodder--another 'joke phrase', but I didn't make that up either... I apologize if you were offended. As I said earlier, I wouldn't have said anything if she'd been assaulted by her husband (which is the context of the joke....I know, I know....poor taste)...

Humor about something that's not funny. Many have been guilty of this including myself. I would like to apologize for any comments I posted that might make lite of an appalling event that happpen. Definitely a black eye.
