Will the Griz try and sign Andy Garland?

Andy according to some is one of the top Prep players in the state and AA. I'd like to see him stay in Missoula and think he would be a good addition.

Andy according to some is one of the top Prep players in the state and AA. I'd like to see him stay in Missoula and think he would be a good addition.

Most of the people I have talked to have Andy as the top Senior prospect in the State. Junior Brock Osweiler, now that Bobby Howard has move to Bozeman, is considered the top basketball player, right now in the state. The problem I hear about Garland is that he is a tweener when it comes to D-1 ball. A little too short 6-5 (maybe closer to 6-4) for the power forward position, and not quite quick enough for the small forward spot. Andy did attend the Bobcat summer camp I hear and played really well, and he also to an recruiting visit to Bozeman (I don't know if it was an official visit though) a few weeks back. As far as the Griz go though, they have spent their three scholarships already for next year on Stockton, Ward. and Taylor. I would bet come spring they may take another look as a walk-on or if a scholarship opens up.

He probably would be a better fit for Huse's style and I don't see him turning down a scholarship to be a walk-on but, you he might to have a shot. I know he played really well for Stang on the Timberjack's this Summer and is getting looks from Ivy League schools as well. He's a hard worker and a smarter player I think if given a shot he'd find a way to be an undersized contributor at the forward position.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I didn't know enough about him to really post what you did, but I do remember him being a tweener. He would do some damage for Carroll, Western, Rocky, or Tech. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a griz uni either.
