will cherry speculation

there's little doubt will shot his way out of cleveland--22% from three, 50% from the foul line, in something like 68 minutes of action.

at the same time, you have to wonder, with all the rumor winds swirling around the cavs, if will wasn't caught up in the maelstom. after all, will was clearly dave blatt's guy, but dave blatt may not be the team's guy. curious to know what kind of atmosphere will stepped into there.

Cherry was 3-6 from the free throw line; 2-9 from 3 pt range; and 5-19 overall in shooting, or 3-10 from inside 3. Not good shooting, but not alot of shots either. I think he will become a regular NBA player. He should be able to improve his shooting. He shot well from the line at UM, in his last several years.

I agree. Very difficult when you don't get a real opportunity to get in a rhythm and show what you can do. Playing a couple minutes a game is not a good indication of what type of player he is/can be. Look at how he played in Ohio and I hear he is doing OK overseas.

Played 9 minutes in the first 2015 Euroleague Top 16 game. 0-3, one assist.

not great stats but 9 minutes is not much time....just like Cleveland

The two most recent games I checked (Jan 4 & 5) had Cherry starting for his team and hitting four out of six three pointers in the Jan 4 game. Euroleague stats are easy to find on the internet. http://www.eurobasket.com/boxScores/Lithuania/2015/0104_1487_183.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would think the minutes he is getting speaks about what the coach's think of his ability.

Has he been there long enough to determine that?

I would have assumed that the Cleveland coaches saw him in practice and that partly determined minutes. I would assume the same in the euro league . Maybe he does just need a little more time to get used to the european style of game.

He's playing quite a few minutes already and as GrizWhiz pointed out is starting for them now. Keep in mind, 25 mins played in a game is about as much as anyone on their team gets for a single game with a few exceptions in the past 5 games.

Last 5 games:

2015-01-05:
19:33 min. 2-4 shooting, 4 points, 1 rebound, 3 turnovers, -1 eff, +/- of +4.

2015-01-04:
24:54 min (2nd highest on team), 4-9 shooting, 4-6 from 3, 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 turnover, +6 eff, +/- of +19.

2014-12-30:
9:09 min, 0-2 shooting, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, +/- of -2

2014-12-23:
9:03 min, 2-4 shooting, 4 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 turnover, +8 Eff, +/- of +13

2014-12-21:
25:31 mins (most on the team), 3-7 shooting, 2-2 FT, 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 7 steals, 5 turnovers, +18 eff, +/- of +1

Here is their schedule if anyone wants to look at box scores.
