BOSTON, MASS. (3/20/12) -- The University of Montana's Will Cherry has added another honor to his list of accolades from this season, as he was one of 25 players named to the 2012 Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America team today. The All-American list is one team consisting of twenty-five players.

Congrats Will, imagination how damn good he will be next year, as a SR!!!
Look out world, I guarantee he is already using that Wisconsin let down as motivation, and working on his game. Ditto Jamar. I hope every returnee is already out there working on their games.

This team has a lot of talent, but to get to the next level they have bust ass in the off season.

Good for will! It's nice to see hard work pay off. I remember seeing him out in the park before the basketball season this year just working his butt off shooting. Glad to see he's dedicated. Hopefully more good things to come.

I love this quote: “It’s a great accomplishment,” Cherry said. “People are really starting to pay attention to what we’re doing up here in the Big Sky and in Missoula in particular. It’s a great honor to be named to any All-America team.”

Congratulations Will Cherry! One of the best "athletes" I've ever seen at UM. Well deserved for his play during the long season and BSC tournament.

Congratulations Will.

It is a given that Will is a great athlete and has great quickness but that doesn't make him a great player. There are a lot of college players with those qualities. What make Will a great player is his work ethic. Will had payed his dues by desiring to be the best and by his working at it. His court presence, his passing, his shooting and his defense are the product of hard work and countless hours of preparation. This desire to be the best has also made him a leader. Players see his sacrifice and improvement and they try to emulate him. He has come a long way since he first stepped foot on campus. The contributions of his coaches have also been an integral part of his development.

He is not only a good player but a better person. He is humble, listens to his coaches, intelligent and an example of what being a Griz is about. Who he is and what he has accomplished should be a model for the University and for the community. What a great young man. Thank you Will for being a Griz and for all you have done.
