Why We Are 0-4 Recently Against The Bobcats

The worse the season, the more you have riding on the Brawl. If you know your season is already ending at the end of the Brawl, then the only thing you can possibly hand your hat on is a Brawl win. The better the season, the more the game becomes nothing more than a critically important conference game to help win the BSC and/or earn a better seed and more home playoff games.
I could see how Bubfats would have this loser mentality but it really doesn’t apply to The Griz. I can only think of maybe a couple years during my lifetime where The Griz were eliminated from the playoffs prior to the brawl.

As for the bubbies, there was a stretch where they had more murders than wins.
This was a really good post. I'm surprised it couldn't get more traction.

I never said he wasn't a good blocker, just I seem to remember his name being called a lot for penalties. Is he your boyfriend or what? You get smashie poos from him?
Well, looks like I owe Griz Addict an apology.

I went back and checked what I could find of the written accounts of the Griz games since Beaver has become a starter (2018). I only looked at provable O-line penalties, not unnamed illegal formation calls or TE calls.

One problem is that a few penalties are not attributed, if you ever watched college they will often say things like "illegal procedure on the offense."

So these numbers are not gospel but of the roughly 39 o-line penalties that were called since 2018, 9 went against Conlan Beaver. This would be higher than one would assume since there are five guys all fighting like hell along there.

It's possible that this could be a factor of being a left tackle, so the responsibility to protect a RH QB's backside is immense so sometimes you hold instead of getting him hit, but there is no way to factor that.

So Griz Addict "your feeling" just might have been right, sorry to question it.

PS: In much of the US and Canada calling someone "gay" isn't really an insult. Next time, try "Bobcat"

Will do. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm still laughing over it.

They’ve beat us because we leak yardage on the ground like a sieve. Everyone in the stadium knew the scats were going to run, didn’t matter. They imposed their will on both sides of the LOS.

I won’t believe in the 3-3-5 until I see a team shut down a strong running game on a consistent basis.

Maybe we use this defense it’s due to a lack of DT’s at this level, however a 4-2-5 or even a 3-4, to me, would be the best option for the Griz.

We have shown a penchant for recruiting and developing linebackers, and Coach seems to have put an end to our secondary troubles- moving at least to a base 3-4 should enable us to get our best 11 on the field.

Hopefully our D-line this year proves me wrong

Shhhhhh! Don't confuse our fan base. Too much football knowledge isn't allowed around here, since Griz-24 has all of the answers to why great teams shouldn't run a defense utilized by Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas A & M, NSDU, Sam Houston, and James Madison. Just go with the sheeples.

Can't identify my sources within the athletic department (don't want anyone to get fired for leaking secrets from the war room) but I have it on good information that all four of these games were lost because the Griz didn't score enough points. Ask Bob if you disagree.

We have herein a poster who knows more about defense than our coaches.

Well he needs to line the fuck up behind Hunt Ducks, who’s forgotten more about football than the rest of the posters on this board combined.

I’m not a coach nor do I claim to be.

I think coach chose the DC he did because of the players we had on campus- light on D-line strength.

Off the top of my head I can’t think of a team at any major level has won a national championship being unable to effectively stop the run.

Hope I’m wrong, and will be damn glad to admit so when we win the championship! Have to trust in Coach Hauck and the staff he has put together. Just awfully disheartening to watch the scats run for hundreds of yards at will (as NDSU would have as well).

This defense this year will not be so easy to run on. Let's watch.
