Why was only 1 ball thrown downfield today by Chalich?

And completed I will add for a big first down.
Was their secondary that good? Was our offensive line that bad? Or what?
Did Stitt not call the long ball because his game plan was to control the clock & keep NCU's offense off the field?
Did he want to avoid a shootout game since he thought we'd lose if both offenses were able to run up & down the field & they'd outscore us?
Could we have won a shootout game?
Again, what I said earlier about Gus being too conservative, now I don't think it's only Gus, I think maybe Stitt should open things up more. Last week he had to open up the offense because we couldn't stop ISU's offense, so we had to score or lose big. Chalich responded with 7 TD passes & we scored 62 points.

UNC had effectively 3 safeties out there playing a zone over the top. Add in Chalich took his eyes off the field the moment an O-lineman was pushed into the pocket. I'd guess no options downfield and a QB that was opting to run all the time vs move/stay in the pocket and make a throw.

Brint..that makes sense, but why didn't Stitt tell him to throw down field. We have above average receivers, so give them a chance as opposed to running most of the plays.
