For some twenty or so years the States of Montana and Wyoming have had games for both boys and girls high school all-stars playing each other. And each and every time Montana wins. So why do we play each other?
It's not as if the State of Wyoming is a recruiting bed for either the UofM and/or MSU so why bother? Wouldn't an all-star game between Montana and Idaho make more sense? Both the Montana Griz and MSU get more players from the State of Idaho than Wyoming for either basketball (Binford had three this past year) and/or football and an all-star game with Idaho would make more sense for scouting possible recruits. A hell of a lot more so than with Wyoming. Who do they ever have? Besides which, they all probably go to the University of Wyoming anyways or some junior college stuck in the back hills of Wyoming somewhere between Buffalo and Casper.
The coaching staff for both could probably get a better selection from Idaho than Wyoming anyways.
