Why Don't Former Griz Players Post Here?

95% of what goes on here is people taking a big steaming dump on the program. Why would a current or former player want to be a part of that? There's no upside, plenty of downside, and I'm pretty sure that most current and former players -- if they ever spent any time here -- would conclude that this community of armchair AD's / coaches just doesn't "get it," at least from their (an athlete's) perspective anyway. Truth is...posters here don't give two she-ites about what players think...unless it validates their negativity and various conspiracy theories related to Griz football. That's why people got so excited when Jace Lewis spouted off on Twitter about stats...but notice he did that on Twitter. He didn't come to eGriz to validate anyone.

Seems to me that Lewis confirmed a lot of what's posted on here.

Pretty sure there are many former lawyers that have attended an Ivy League. Probably a couple more to come in the future. Some would say “many” have achieved what he has in life?

All by being admitted solely because he has 10% American Indian in him. You two should get a room.... the lake house is closed for the winter

My family member are enrolled members of our tribe. You have to be a lot more Native American than that to be a tribal member. Our ranch, which we still have, was founded on the res, as the reservation was being formed. I was admitted to Dartmouth before its Native American program was established. I am the 4th to the last NA admitted prior to the program, according to a book written on NA's at Dartmouth. The College didn't learn that I was NA until years after I graduated. I recently served on the Dartmouth Native American Visiting Committee, along with Casey Loser, a MT BOR and former chair. I got him on the committee. I am a member of the Montana Indian Athletic Hall of Fame.

One of my relatives played hoops for the Fort Shaw Indian Girls basketball team, which was at the 1904 Worlds Fair in St. Louis and were declared world champions that year. Dolly Akers was my relative. She's the first Native American woman elected to the MT Legislature. She served on the Fort Peck tribal council in the 50s with my uncle. https://dailymontanan.com/2022/09/15/the-still-controversial-life-of-montanas-first-native-woman-elected-to-the-legislature/Dolly's husband gave me my first horse when I was only a few years old. An Indian paint. My dad played football for BYU.

I'm very proud of my heritage. I wish people like you would have more respect for it. I think I've done okay for a kid who grew up in his early years in a two-room shack without electricity, running water or indoor plumbing.

Almost all of my research and publications center on American Indian boarding schools. What happened to kids there was unconscionable; they're still finding bodies under playgrounds. Most of the buildings at the Fort Shaw boarding school are still standing and it's a great reminder to part of our ugly past.
