I really enjoy watching Kidder play. Many are dissapointed that he isn't putting up bigger numbers, but if you watch him play he physically dominates the line of scrimmage and dictates adjustments by the offense more than any player I've seen. I bet if you were to ask the Griz defense this question that they would overwhelmingly pick Kidder.
Saying that, you also have to give kudos to what Bignell has done on a weak MSU defense. If you put him on a team with a better DL, he would be putting up even more impressive numbers than he has been.

I still believe Kidder is the front runner of POY, and, contrary to what some might think, it's not a popularity contest. The coaches in the Big Sky actually do put some thought into it. They might not in the SEC but they do around these parts. They won't get the voting wrong. The only one I feel like might pull ahead of Kidder is the big boy from NAU.
realizing that Kidder is a force, front runner, a senior, wears #37, with all this i still feel impelled to mention #42 when we are anytime discussing defense. Josh plays like a Colt Anderson to me, almost always around the ball being incredibly savvy of where the play is going. Instinctively, one of the best.

Should be between UND SS Cole Reyes and UM DE Caleb Kidder. Mario Jenkins (Idaho State), Needham, Buss and Bignell know how to get in the backfield and are arguably the four best outside linebackers in the league. But Reyes and Kidder mean so much to the success of their respective units. Gotta be between those two.
A little off the cuff question here, but after watching Jace Lewis, how would you say his game compares to Josh Buss? I know we recruited as a OLB, so presumably he would be the next guy filling in Josh's shoes.VimSince03 said:

What Jace has going for him are his instincts and discipline. He's also a very good tackler. I think he fits more the Will linebacker spot better which is currently manned by James Banks. Right now, the three backups at each position are redshirt freshman Cy Sirmon (Will), Vika Fa'atuiese (Mike), and Dante Olson (Sam). Redshirt freshman that are one year ahead of him are Sirmon, Fa'atuiese, Olson, and redshirt sophomores like Alex Thomas and Shayne Cochran. However, I think Sirmon will eventually move to inside linebacker and compete with Fa'atuiese once Strahm graduates with Banks in two years. That means the Will spot will be a wide open competition so it wouldn't surprise me if Lewis cracks the two-deep or starts at that position in three years.
