Who will be the team leader today?

While I have no actual insight into this I think men like Jordan Tripp, Dan Moore, Sam Gratton, Bo Tully, Alex Bienemann, Danny Kistler, Jordan Johnson, Jacob Haas, Josh Stuberg, Brock Coyle, and Kjelby Oiland will help bring this team together today. I'm bummed practice is closed, I wish I could just sit in the stands and watch.
Did the team practice Friday?
A practice was scheduled on Friday, but I doubt much actual practicing took place. I would guess it had more of a team meeting, type of feel to it.

Whomever wrote the letter, it wasn't an undergraduate, which includes Griz football players.

Whoever wrote the letter did a fine job and knew how to compose a sentence in English.

Yes, whoever.

Also, just to be clear, I think that the team gave input on the letters content. However, I think that someone in the AD's office wrote the letter given the sheer number of subtle points made.

Ya.. Your totally right! A football player could never write a letter like that..

In my own experience (as an instructor and as a graduate student), most undergraduates cannot write. By all means, I include myself here. Frankly, I would estimate that only the top 5% of English majors at any school could write as well as was done in the letter to the fans. This is not supposed to be taken as smack towards Griz football players. Rather it is just an observation.

On a related note, undergraduates' writing is much better at the University of Montana than at Kent State University. Likely this is due to the fact that Montana requires a plethora of writing courses (lower and upper division). Plus, Montana also requires the writing proficiency exam, which in 2004 (the last time I saw any data for the exam) the average UofM student had to take four times to pass.

WOW! Even when someone speaks the truth, and signs their name, I am basically labeled a LIAR...that letter WAS written by a few leaders that play for the GRIZ and the entire football team had a chance to add input...carry on...

Well, who could POSSIBLY think that a group of college educated men could come up with that prose?

Come on, people. Not everyone writes like jcu27.

Now, if this was an engineering college, I could understand the disbelief....

No worries at all Lisa, I get your true intent.

The use of "crafted" was a poor choice, I seriously did mean it along the lines of designing, rough-drafting, outlining, etc. The use of the word made it sound a little more cooked up and that certainly was not my intention.

Thank you, Ms. Nagle-Tripp. I, for one, really appreciate the courage it took to come on this insane board and personally, by name, defend and explain the team letter. From point one, I believed what you said about the letter being written by team members, and I still believe you. I think all of us with any sense at all do so.

I liked the letter, and understood it!

My favorite part...the last three words!  :thumb:

Let's be honest. The people that think this letter was not written by players have way deeper problems with their own life, and already have made their own opinion. The letter from the PLAYERS was for the fans that support student athletes that work their ass off day in and day out and for griz nation. I know Lisa is telling the truth. And I wish more people with the actual truth spoke up
more......

However more and more it seems this board is filling up with uninformed posters and pathetic/no life individuals....

Personally, I'm glad that I'm wrong. Thanks Lisa. To the players that did write/draft/edit the letter, you guys obviously put a lot of work into it and it is appreciated. With your skills, you will have no problem finding a job after school.

Cheers
