Who should we root for to Win BigSky Tournament?

Ok ok calm down...of course we are rooting for the Griz,....buuuut if you took the rising tide lifts all boats angle and whats best for the conference is best for Griz in long run aka not the Griz in the tournament (3-8 down the stretch with losses to bottom 4 teams in conference) who has the best shot to make some noise like EWU did last year?
Is it actually EWU? Is it MSU with a legit inside presence? Is it SUU with their hard nosed athletes, or Weber with their soft but at times highly explosive skill players?
I think SUU is basically a good version of what Griz try to be and we know how that works when you try and out athletic and defense superior athletes who can also shoot...SUU = NO
MSU I think is maybe the most complete team in BigSky but they are more suited to be very good against BigSky talent so NO
I think the best bet is THE TEAMS THAT CAN SHOOT so EWU or Weber.
EWU probably a bit too you and to much of a glass cannon though, Weber if they have a hot shooting night can probably hang 80 on a 2 or 3 seed and make it interesting.

*Aside: The reason for this thread is Im finding alarmingly apathetic and my rational brain is starting to wonder if I should really want them to win the conference maybe better off playing Michigan in the CBI or something lol. I haven't even remembered a game since watching them lose to ISU. I have to admit I even spaced out the MSU game when I probably haven't missed more than a game or two per season for lat 5-6 years....And its not like an angry rage quite "my teams not winning so Im off the bandwagon"...The Griz are just so aggressively boring and predictable with no reason to expect improvement or a breakout. Which makes it very easy forget their is a game. In the good ol days I wanted to see what Ogunie or Pridgget or Jamar were going to do every night. Now I'd rather die over and over in Elden Ring lol

BUT WAIT! "the team is so young with such a high ceiling and so much talent back to back best recruiting classes ever!"
Sorry not seeing it...I mean I do see the athletic talent (Bannon Beasley Hollinger) but much in the same way that yes a 6'5" pitcher who throws 97mph has talent but if he can't throw strikes consistently and doesn't have good off speed pitches how much potential does he actually have?
Consistency and the ability for self-improvement are also talents and . You see it a lot in sports where people project huge upside for team or call a low performing player with physicals gifts a bust because they just assume that "the talent" to consistently maximize you talents will just appear. If consistency and the ability to learn from mistakes and self-improve are low then its like the team wasn't a bust that's just who they always were.
Anyways, Parker and Bannon are the only ones that show me much of that so as a team I would expect minor improvement next just from being another year older but mostly more of the same. Of course the caveat is sometimes coaching can cause a see change in a players mental approach and you can have large improvement in consistency and the ability to continually improve...let's hope Travis finds a message that will make that happen for all the guys who have stalled the last 2 years.

IF, it's not the GRIZ, it's difficult for me.

With that said, any of the top 4, other than SUU. For some reason, I'm just not convinced on them. Weber State, which team shows up in the tournament? Talent wise, they're the most likely to pull off an upset. MSU and UNC both have impressed me. I feel, either would represent respectfully. However, as for the GRIZ, we don't matchup well against UNC. They're the team I don't want to see against us in the conference tournament. I'm more relieved, we're bracketed opposite of them.

Whoever can win a game as a 15 or 16 seed. I don't think there is one.

^^^ This

and it feels like another lost year, longing for the competent and cohesive teams (e.g. Ahmaad Rorie, Michael Oguine Fabijan Krslovic Sayeed Pridgett Jamar Akoh) that could win every home game, challenge in every road game, and throw a partial-game scare into most P5 clubs.

I agree with you. I want the Griz to win but I also want the Big Sky to have solid representation as that is the only way to stay away from the 15 or 16 is by raising the conference reputation. MSU has the bigs to hang with the bigger teams and solid guard play.

If the Cats win tournament I think they could get a 14 seed..if there are a few upsets in other 1 bid conferences maybe a 13 seed. And I agree they would have the best chance to win a game in NCAA.

That may be, but I won't be rooting for them. Never have; never will.
