Very naïve analysis. Our offense had 3 and out after 3 and out with but 21 min TOP. 305 yards total offense, much of it after down by 3 scores. Couldn't get it in the end zone from the 1 yard line; it goes on and on. Put the D in bad field position and wore them out. Yes the D stupidly played man with the DB backs to the play while Murray ran right through them, again and again. Without a passing threat. And frequently couldn't get themselves off the field. We need to score when we get the chance. This year’s offense has been much better at that.
I agree the game is on the defense. They key will be containing the QB and forcing turnovers. If that can happen, the offense is consistent enough to score what we need to win, in my opinion. If it becomes a shootout because we can't stop them, they have the advantage because of the offensive style. I think the offense needs to show up of course, and be more consistent than last year (which they seem to be overall this year). A good showing with both will be a solid victory. If one or the other falter, will be a nail biter until the end. We also need steady special team play. I hate cat week...
