"I'm still perplexed and fascinated by the difference in where offensive and defensive linemen are raised (D-line overwhelmingly in the South; O-line all over the place, but with a big Midwest/rural West contingent)"

I don't think it's all that perplexing about the O-line having big Midwest/rural West contingents. Speaking in generalities, these places are mostly populated by people of Northern European descent and are where the boys are raised to be big, strong farm boys. Tall, broad genetics combined with diets of massive amounts of meat, potatoes, and hard work help to make these freaks of nature we call O-linemen.

That is some amazing research. I wonder what % Montana would have, if he had calculated it? I wonder if we would be on the positive side?

I wouldnt trust his numbers, considering he has Mariani and Hilliard as the only Montanans in the NFL.

He's only counting on the offense..

Well, crap... Might as well admit I was wrong twice then.

Not only did I not realize it offense only, I was ready to claim Procter.
Don't know why, but I was always under the impression he was from Sidney, not Gig Harbor, WA.

Procter almost caught me too. I was about to post it, but remembered he was from Washington. I could not remember what city though.
