Where are we recruiting? Why? Who's doing it?

I think we've done a good enough job recruiting QB talent. I'm more concerned about recruiting the OL talent. When we were perennially on top of the BSC and were making deep playoff runs, we not only had a solid front five, but we had the depth to rotate guys without losing a step. It will be crucial for this team's success to emphasize the recruitment and development of those guys. We have the coach to do that. I think Stitt is smart enough to understand that he needs to recruit the talent to get that dominant offensive line in order to make his offense effective.

Getting linemen with attitude will also help. The current crew recruited from the old regime lack fire and nastiness. That has been the biggest knock, in my opinion. Linemen that are competitors and have a big chip on their shoulder will carry this team far. Recruit attitude to go along with ability.

Hard to do when you devote so many of your schollies to WRs.

Just curious what you guys think about each freshman OL player on the roster.

The Griz gave four full rides to high school OL in February. And are grey-shirting another. With 59 full schollies available to the entire program, that's quite a bit. Yes, some of the veteran OL are not playing up to Montana standards this season, but people post on here as if they signed NONE. Again, they signed five in the 2015 recruiting class alone.

I believe both Eric Meyers and Bo Levi were drop downs.

And Big Play VA was a drop up.

Only BLM was a drop down.

Huh. Coulda sworn there was another one in there.... :?

Probably Padron who couldn't keep his starting spot to Adams 2 games into VA's freshman year...

That's it. I knew there was one more there...

I tel ya where we should be recruiting..Barrow Alaska.....been watching that Football Town show...pretty entertaining. They produce some thick dudes in that part of the world...got that Somoan brick shit house build. Could probably get a DT or Linebacker out of there every once in a while...I dont think they will be affected by cold weather...LOL

Yep. Made this point a couple days ago in another thread. Another point: people were VERY high on the guys currently playing when we recruited them....it's always a crap shoot how they turn out...but I'm certain each and every one of them is giving it their all...

but they might not take to this balmy warm Missoula weather, seems it is rarely ever cold here during football season anymore
