Hey, I agree. Where are they? You're starting to act like me. I'm glad you're finally coming around. Haha.

I've seen this on dozens of post. "I thought MSU got the better assistant, I'm glad I was wrong"

Honestly what's it like being one of the little people of the world?

He is a better recruiter than he is a game-time coach. I do not think that he makes great game-time adjustments most of time, at least in the games I have watched. I think the assistant coach who is leaving gets the credit for the much-improved defense the past couple of years, because Tinks team did not play great "D" before this guy came. And, I still think Tinks offense has too much dribbling, not enough passing, and too many players standing around. He can get away with this because he has too great one-on-one players who have the ability to break down a defense off the dribble.

This is more of a technical analysis of his skills as a coach. But then, I realize that most will flame away because "his record speaks for itself". Just remember, players play the game, not coaches. Tinks recruited two studs, who are clearly elite Big Sky players. Weber has only one such player. Nobody else in the league has even one. Makes a coach look very good. Objectivity is often not accepted on this board, so flame away!

What concerns me is more is the fact that the past several games the Griz have started very slowly, digging themselves a hole that takes quite a while to climb out of. They've been fortunate to climb out each and every time, but if they start that way against one of the top 12 teams in the country, something tells me they won't be climbing out of THAT hole...they need to address the slow starts, IMHO.

For fans like AZ and Growler, I just shake my head. Growler because he thinks he's qualified to evaluate coaches of every sport, and to AZ because he has ANY concerns. Dude, Tinks and the Griz just wrapped up EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE THING a fan can ask for out of a basketball team from the Big Sky Conference. Regular season title, check, beat Weber twice, both games when it mattered most, check, beat Cats twice, check, host the conference tourney, check, crush Weber, who got all the well-deserved pub during the regular season on national tv, check, qualify for the NCAA tournament, check!

This isn't the football team. The Griz aren't playing for a national championship. All of the above, plus 26 wins and a 14-game winning streak, they just accomplished everything that a fan of a mid-major can hope for. Winning a game in the tourney would be gravy. Anyone who is CONCERNED about ANYTHING is out of their friggin minds and needs immediate help.

I'm concerned my wife will change her mind and put the slammer on my trip to wherever they play....

I am concerned one of you two will just have to get over it, and for your sake, I hope it is her. :thumb:

I can state with complete objectivity that you're an idiot.

Does that make you feel important and special? You know, the play-ground bravado you exhibit? You are a clueless little non-athlete, that thinks he can bolster his fragile little ego with board-blustering. I think I put one you through the hoop a couple of hours ago.

Not every sport. I know nothing about badminton. Ask FairWeatherFan about coaching that sport. More his speed.

I had said I was wrong looooong ago. The main reason I was critical early on was because his early teams would disappear in big games. The early ass-kickings that PSU gave the Griz and when the crowds showed up, usually for Griz-Cat games, the Griz wilted. He righted that issue a long time ago and I have given him credit for that. When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what anyone says. Tinkle is a good coach and we should appreciate the time he is here. I thought last year that there was a good chance he was here for quite a long time. This year I think he is gone in a very short time. Amazing what a year can do for expecations.

you've clearly outed yourself that you couldn't coach or evaluate football and basketball at this level either. it's all been documented by your insanity on this board over the course of how many ever years and a half dozen screen names. And before you retort with your usual drivel about how you played five different college sports and blah blah and I'm just some guy who's never played sports, don't bother, because one of the million differences between ME and you is, I've NEVER claimed I could, should or would be able to do a better job than any Griz coach or athlete since this board was created. Translation - I'm not insane.

Yeah, he deserves no credit for this team's growth and achievements. There's a thing these players do when they don't play-it's called practice. Coach Tinkle runs it. You're just stupid Growler 1!

he likes the attention, he makes every thread his gets involved in about himself...he might not realize he is doing it, or would claim that is not the case but it clearly is, becuse every time he takes on a "me vs the world" attitude when it comes to being objective..i swear never thought i would see the phrase "i have the ability to be objective" over used....its all about the growler...too bad we just cant talk about basketball and the great team we have.
