Where Are the Fans?

Granted I'm watching the stream, but Dahlberg looks embarrassing empty for a conference-leading team with a Saturday night game. The student section was practically empty at one point. Pretty weak Griz fans. This team deserves better.

Mostly referencing the student section. Shaun Rainey posted a pic midway through the first half and it was basically empty.

By recent standards, not a bad crowd (I was one of them :thumb: )given a pretty sub-par opponent. I have not researched the numbers, but I sense the beginnings of an upswing in fan interest in part due to the outstanding success Coach Decuire has had so far, and the exciting brand of basketball being played. As more and more of his recruits join the program I think things only get better.

We were there ... and, I agree about the student section -- I don't know if there were 30 students present. Sad, very sad.

That's just not accurate. It is usually more full than not, it's just that only the first two rows stand or make any noise.

I agree. The section usually is mostly full. But, not tonight.

Holiday weekend? Kids leaving town?

Interestingly, the south upper general admission section was really full. This tells us the non season ticket holders and non students are taking advantage of and are interested in watching a great ball team. Maybe we should let those fans sit on the first level where the students should be.

Absolutely correct, Lotsa! This section is how to get an estimate of local interest. The upper level north section has gradually, steadily shown signs of fan interest. I believe things are starting an upward trend. Go Griz.

:thumb: I'm with ya! We should be able to beat the 5400 fans that Bozo had for the Griz - Cat game. Hopefully we hit 6000 this weekend. GO GRIZ!!!!!!

I hope so! The Griz are pretty damn exciting to watch right now and we drew over 4300 for the NAU game. Hopefully the U of M does a good job marketing the upcoming Griz/cat game to get people hyped and wanting to attend.
