When Was the Last Time?

Griz til I die said:
Before judging the basketball teams, why don't you wait until conference play starts? They've both had really tough non-conference schedules, the men especially. I personally think the men will be in the title discussion with how weak the conference appears to be this year, and getting Moody back in time for the final few non-conf games before conference play. As far as the women, it's Holsinger's second year of a complete re-build/turnaround of the program, and his best player Gfeller has been out.

Now I will point out to you that Griz Volleyball did sweep the cats this year, both of which were in convincing fashion, and Allison Lawrence won coach of the year with her best team ever. Yes, they did have an early exit in the tournament, but if I'm not mistaken they drew PSU in the 1st round who ended up winning the tournament and I'm pretty sure that's who the cats lost to in the second round.

AZ I know you're frustrated with how the Football season went. We all share that same frustration as you, and it will definitely take time to get over this. That said, putting the blame on Haslam for this is not really fair. Griz Football was coming off of a 2021 season where if it weren't for an injury plagued year, likely would've been a semi and maybe even a Frisco team. To expect him to make any type of a change coming off of that would be completely ridiculous and uncalled for. This will be the offseason to judge Haslam and how he addresses the state of the Football program, along with men's and women's Basketball if they too spiral out of control. I would think he will at a minimum have a conversation with Bobby about the off the field shit that occurred in the lead up to the season and will likely talk about his assistants as well. The time to critique Haslam is now and not a year ago!

Back when the Griz were dominant, like 2001 - 2008 or so, a player would go down & UM would reload. Next man up. It was incredible. MSU had both QB's go down, along with most of its running backs & a ton on D were out, plus the O line is a group of younger players who outside of Vigen, no one though would do well. Yet they keep winning. Next. Man. Up. Injuries are a sad part of the game. Recruiting and developing a deep team is what good coaches do.
