As soon as the add, Walla Walla JC, Rocky Mountain, Stout State, and Plentywood HS to the already pathetic schedule. :(

I'm not happy with the BB schedule either, but that's what you get when the conference turns into a gigantic clusterfuck and you have so many conference games. That really cuts down on the chance of getting good OOC opponents.

The Griz do play BYU, Colorado State, and Idaho. Unfortunately road games.

The Griz BB team is a hell of a lot of fun to watch and I hope more people do start showing up to check them out. 25-7 last year, and 15-1 in conference.

I think most fan bases are fair weather Hammer. I think people being pissed off about the season shows alot of passion and pride. Maybe some of us aren't going about it the right way. I'm not happy with the current state of the Griz but I'll be there cheering as well and hoping there's a chance we get in with 4 losses.

So fuck basketball while calling other people fair weather? :P

Don't think anyone is seriously saying that they are ditching football.... yet still you go ahead and bash a basketball team that plays with the big boys every year and does damn well.

If you are seriously calling me a fair weather fan because I happen to like basketball...and am frustrated with our current football coach... well call me fair weather. I'd rather be a fair weather fan in your eyes than a no-weather fan for the basketball team who is damn fun to watch :thumb:

You know, a person can be a fan of both.

Most of us agree with that.. I love what UM basketball is becoming and what it once was...I think most UM alumni feel the same.

I don't think people posting on egriz on a late Sat night/early Sunday morning (1:41 a.m., my time) are fair weather, more like fanatics.

I like basketball too, and go to a half a dozen or so games a year. You do know there is a basketball forum, correct??

The tone of the thread was that 'football is over and basketball can't start soon enough'. You can't disagree with that!

I thought the tone of this thread was more of a joke than anything, since many of us basketball fans have very high hopes for this years team. Even with Cherry being out (and possibly redshirting?) this team will be a good one.

At least I took it as a thread pointing out something positive to think about rather than ...well... you see how negative the rest of the forum is (understandably so).

And yes, I know there's a basketball forum too...this thread was in the football forum right now, and someone mentioned the schedule so I figured I'd respond and point out that we do play some quality teams this year, and try to explain why the home schedule is...well... not so great.

No harm in trying to drum up a little more interest for basketball even if it's in a joke thread on the football forum... I want to see basketball start to get the support that it deserves, and I don't thin kit has to come at the expense of football. This school and town is big enough to support both :)
