What would our record be IF....

.....Billy Reader and Marko Kovacevic were still Griz? Totally hypothetical I know, and very frustrating to think about. Martin would be a RS freshman and we would be dominant in the paint on both ends of the floor.

Reader would have helped that's for sure. He has started a few games for Morehead state so far this year, and is averaging about 18 mins a game (7.1 points, 3 rebounds).

He started the first 3 games I think but then seems to have lost his starting job. at one point his minutes were very limited for some reason (injury or doghouse who knows..) Against Chattanooga he had 21 points and 8 rebounds in 27 minutes.

As for Kovacevic, no idea on him yet. Sounds like he broke his hand and was going to miss the first 6 weeks. Will be interesting to see how he does for Utah when they get him back.

It's really too bad Reader being here didn't work out... I think he had loads of potential and seemed to be a high energy guy (sometimes a bit too much so).

It is what it is though... Hutch had a good game against Hawaii I thought, so maybe that'll help get him going a little. If not I'm sure Kemp will continue to develop and be contributing quite a bit by conference time.

You could add Wiley to the list of "What if" players too... what if he had stuck with basketball? We would've had a very bouncy (39" vertical) post down there with loads of potential. I think that loss was HUGE this year, especially how late it came :(

no iffies. sorry.
I wish I was that way, but this season so far has me thinking "what if" with every time we get abused on the glass and give up points in the paint. It's hard to watch right now.

I was thinking this the last week myself. We would likely have only lost to MN, maybe Hawaii. The other losses were a matter of giving up one less offensive rebound, or getting 1 more defensive rebound. Hawaii we outright stunk from the perimeter. Hawaii would not have been able to get as much momentum, and we would not have been relying on the perimeter game as often.

As for the Hawaii game, I'm still upset about Kareem's lack of focus and hustle. I can handle a bad game statistically, but the leader of you team needs to be going for loose balls, hustling, and setting the tone for rest the team. He outright stunk in those aspects against Hawaii. No wonder the team was flat, it started with him.
