Kudus to UM and its administration, for supporting Wilson and welcoming him back. This shows some courage on their part, because it would have been easy to duck this situation. The specific support of Dennison and O'Day in the press release was interesting.
Even if Wilson is a bit rusty, he will be a force. He's the best corner I've seen play for the Griz. He can play both corner positions. He's good in coverage, a good tackler and physical. Wilson and TJ will be the best starting corner tandem in I-AA, and would probably be starting corners for many I-A teams. Perhaps Wilson's return and strong play will help TJ continue to improve, as he is obviously terrific and has great potential to continue to improve. Two strong cover and physical corners should help the blitz packages too.
Wilson lifted hard while in jail, and was very strong. Given the length of the ncaa application process, my guess is that he's in terrific shape. There is nothing he wanted to do more than get his last year of college football. Now he has his chance, and will able to do it at his school, with the support of friends, the administration and athletic department, some remaining teammates and at least a goodly number in Griz nation and Missoula.
Yes, welcome back, JW.
