... WSU versus Montana isn't just another Big Sky Conference rivalry.

Over the last two seasons, it's been the biggest and best Big Sky rivalry.

The Wildcats and Grizzlies have met in the championship game of the league tournament in back-to-back seasons and in three of the last four years. WSU has blown out the Griz a couple of times in regular-season games, but Montana has won all the biggest battles and has knocked Weber State out of the Big Sky Conference tournament in four consecutive seasons. "It's turned into a really good rivalry," Weber State coach Randy Rahe said. "The history, they're coming off back-to-back championships. They are the team in the league right now; we won back-to-back a (few) years ago. We've had some battles, it's well-documented. I've got a lot of respect for their program, what they've done and how successful they've been, but we do like to play them and they like to play us. It's one of those games where the juices are flowing."

Tipoff tonight is at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.

Let's hope we do not play the role of the nail and Weber the hammer in this years rivalry version.....a win at Dee would be a huge boost. Go Griz!

I love what Rahe says about "Earning" the right to shoot the 3. If and when I coach basketball again, I will add this to my coaching book.
