Intense defensive battle between the Wildcats and UND. Hawks' matchup zone is much improved over earlier in the year. UND up by 9 with 12 minutes remaining.

UND 78, WSU 71. Good game. Jeremy Senglin played a great game... 26 or 28 points. UND frosh Crandall playing impressive ball for the Hawks.

Most importantly, Griz move back into a tie for first place.

A time error in MSU's favor probably beat Sac State....that is a first..

I don't know what it was....I have NEVER seen a ref do this.....Sac inbounds with 6 secs left and bring the ball over half court and shoot a 3 at the same time as the whistle was blown, they make the 3 but the refs go to the monitor and look at it for 5 mins and come back out, give the ball to Sac, set the clock at 3 secs and restart the game....WHAT WAS THAT??? The ref blows the whistle to stop play, the Sac player makes a 3 and they look at the monitor for 5 mins AND MAKE NO CALL WHAT SO EVER.....all they did was stop play, take off our 3 and give us the ball back with 3 less secs left and a sidecourt inbounds....THE REFS STOPPED THE CLOCK AND PLAY AND MAKE NO CALL AT ALL!!!!

WTF, any idea what was going on? Then again, does this surprise anyone that follows Big Sky Conference Basketball? Enter EGs' jab at the conference, being it is set up for it. :thumb:

I tried to rationalize it mtgrizrule....if it's a foul, we shoot (we were in the double bonus), if it's a violation then we lose the ball....is there any other thing that could be whistled at that point? (couldn't be the shot clock either with only 6 secs left in the game)

Wait.... is the play by play on ESPN wrong? It shows:

0:06 - MSU Danny Robison made Free Throw. 76-73
0:06 - MSU Danny Robison made Free Throw. 77-73
0:03 - SAC Dreon Barlett made Three Point Jumper. Assisted by Jeff Wu. 77-76
0:01 - SAC Foul on Jeff Wu. 77-76
0:01 - MSU Marcus Colbert made Free Throw. 78-76
0:01 - MSU Marcus Colbert made Free Throw. 79-76

The play by play looks like they counted the 3 pointer with 3 seconds left according to the official stats anyway. Same goes for the play by play on the Sac site.

Looks like the game is up on Eversport in their archive. Going to check out the last 10 seconds.... sounds like a mess.

Same refs as the 72 Olympics?

Oh I see what happened.

Clock didn't start when it was in-bounded with 6 seconds left until VERY late (like after Sac got it across half court). So blame that on the clock operator not the refs. Sucks for Sac...not sure it cost them the game though since they hit a 3 anyway.

Had the clock operator started it on time Sac would have likely hit the three with about 3 seconds left instead of 1.4 or whatever. MSU got fouled with .9 (so say it would've been maybe 2.something instead). So Sac would have still been down 3 with under 3 seconds left and the ball under their own basket after Colbert made the 2 free throws.

I can see what your talking about now...there was no explanation at all at the game...

Shouldn't the correct move be to reset the clock at 6 secs and have us inbound from the far baseline again?? Oh well, it probably didn't make any difference as MSU out hustled us for most of the game.....
