Weber/Griz Game Analysis

Basketball is pretty unwatchable anymore.

Horrible decisions, lack of fundamentals, turning down high % shots for the kick out missed 3, and the one on five game most hot dogs play has ruined the game.

It is amazing how much more fun the 80s Lakers and Celtics TEAMS were to watch compared to the ghetto BS that is on now.

totally agree--except for this year's warriors. curry is a trotter on steroids; he's making other teams look like the washington generals. that ball is up the court before opposing teams know what hit them--splash! first time in ages i've sat down to watch an entire nba game.

3900 is nothing to brag about, Missoula. Should have 6000 there. This is the Big Sky Championship for gosh sakes. Crowd was good, but why so many empty seats?

As others have said, there's competition from high school tourneys. Another reason may be the higher ticket prices for this tournament and, remember, if you want to see the women's sessions, you have to buy those tickets separately. That adds up.

I'm from outside Missoula, and I think a lot of out-of-towners couldn't make it yesterday due to jobs and other reasons, but will be able to make it tonight.

I called to get tickets a bit ago and had a relatively long wait on the phone. Had the impression that ticket sales were quite brisk, so expect to see the arena rocking tonight.

You nailed it regarding out of towners and work schedules. I am trying to make arrangements to make the Friday night games. Thursday night games were impossible for me to justify going to without a lot of risk to future employment. :thumb:

3900 was not impressive by any stretch of the imagination. Shit, if I can get there.... The crowd was loud late but needs to sustain that level the entire game.

I was very impressed with Weber. That's the best coaching job I've seen Rahe do against the Griz. Their D was outstanding and their ability to deny JG any good looks was remarkable. Senglin was the difference maker for them. He was damn impressive after missing 4 weeks.

Congrats to the Griz. They continued to battle. Bruenig is the best big in the league and it ain't close. And major kudos to Gregory. He struggled mightily but hit two CLUTCH FTs to send it to OT.

Beat NAU!

Agree and the Spurs they actually play team ball which is why they knock down championships like I knock down jack and cokes driving back to Butte. Early and often.

The scrum at the end of regulation exemplified the grit this Griz team plays with. A lot had to go right -- like actually making the free throws -- for the Griz to have a chance at that point. But it started with Gregory's all-out effort going after the ball.

You could make quite a highlight reel of his exploits this year. His will to win is uncanny.

It is hard to find that in a player too. I pray his returning teammates inherit that going into next season. I have been impressed with the team mentality and sacrifices this SR class has made this season. Gregory, Weisner, and Kemp have all bought in, and busted ass this season to set the tone for the team. My hat is off to them. Thank you, Jordan, Mike, and Chris. :thumb:
