"We Don't Play For Championships"

Stitt repeats this comment a lot. He talks about how they just want to get better each week. It seems to be this is a fundamental flaw in his thinking. Goals need to be set, and a championship is just one of them. The comment just irritates me more and more, as I hear it.

As for Stitt, he also has said they had this game marked on the calendar for a year, and it has been mentioned every day - yet still he cannot get his team mentally up for important games. I dont think there is nothing wrong with his knowledge of offense, yet rather how he motivates and develops the talent he gets.

Probably a good chance that he will now walk, as no 3 year extension will be offered. There is plenty of talent on this team, so whoever inherits it - let us hope that most of it stays.

I wonder if this sentiment was part of what Haslam mentioned today in his press conference.

Re watch the game , the cats had fire and intensity on the sideline . I did not see it the same on our side .

Yep, and I think that was really noticed, and part of the reason the majority of the staff including the former Griz players were let go. We all know how fired up Strahm can get, but even he was docile on the playing field, probably because he was asked to be. He's the guy you wanted running around firing up the other players.
