PULLMAN, Wash. -- Stephen Sauls, a reserve for No. 4 Washington State, is in the hospital after he collapsed and stopped breathing during a Monday practice.
Sauls
Sauls, a freshman guard, was quickly revived after receiving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation by trainer Nick Gallotto. He was examined by WSU director of athletic training Bill Drake and taken to Pullman Regional Hospital.
Team officials suspect he may have a concussion, after taking an elbow to the face during a scrimmage.
Sauls went down on all fours, rose to his feet and walked around for a few seconds before falling to his knees, then to the floor.
Sauls, from Missouri City, Texas, has appeared in eight games and is averaging 2.1 points.
