Hmmm … interesting stats for the game. Certainly seem to confirm your statement that the field was hot. They did play their first string QB all the way -- probably needed the game reps. But, other than that, they rotated a lot of other players in and out.bigsky33 said:Not worried about the defense. I was there. Had to be 100 degrees on field. Their offense was very fast. QB was excellent. Their wide receivers outstanding. The Cats will not see anything close to them this season. Tech played their first team the whole game.HookedonGriz said:TT QB is 40-53 for 436 and 2 TDs. They have 673 yards of total offense. I thought someone had said the Cats have the best defense they have ever seen in FCS? If true, Texas Tech is going to be national champion.

Notice I have the class not to say "That's what She said."
What's even more impressive, IMO, was that they had seven receivers haul in 4, 5, or 6 balls each (as noted above). Those can't all be starters either. :lol:PlayerRep said:Bauman was 7-19, or 37%.
Cats were 2-16 in 3d down efficiency.
The EWU qb was 21-35 against the Huskies.
Looks like TT did play its qb all or most of the way, but TT had 8 runners carry the ball and 11 receivers makes catches. Those aren't all starters.

Maybe the cats D will dominate in FCS and the big sky. I’m just saying I didn’t see anything (Literally) today telling me that would be the case. I get it that it’s fbs but I truly expected cats to not give up that much yardage with so much ease. They literally couldn’t tackle or make plays. Outmatched or not they played a very vanilla and soft D. It’s not like Texas Tech is one of the top FBS teams either. They are middle of the pack.

Under throws and over throws down the sidelines. Their run game will be just fine just like last year. Their defense is hard to define right now because TT is so different from what they see in the fcs but overall TT had 2/3 string Players in and making plays. MSU D was pretty gassed tho by that point. I don’t see MSU having a powerhouse D after watching what I saw today, but we’ll see once they get a real mid level FCS team in there

It's so hard to judge how their defense will be based on this game, their offense is not that great so the defense was constantly on the field and was worn out early.
On a more somber note Oregon up 14-6 at the half AT Auburn, I can hardly wait for that track meet in 2 weeks.

You are right- on. If you want to measure the Cats by this game to make you feel good, go right ahead. The Griz will get theirs against Oregon. These games are not an indicator of FCS success.

We're gonna get rolled. But for real this time.
