WAC/Big Sky merger talks starting up again.

if you follow TheUpsetblog.com on twitter there's chatter about the WAC/Big Sky joining up again for olympic sports. I only want this if it means 2 NCAA Tourney bids. Not sure if they can pull it off, but if they can I say go for it.

That WAC division/conference is terrible for WSU, no way they would go for that set up; almost all their BSC rivals are in the other division, WSU and NMSU would be the only good basketball teams so RPI goes down the drain worse than it is now (sorry NAU, get better soon...) so 16 seed is almost a lock every year, and travel sucks.

Keep general idea, BUT Boise is going to the Big West. Slot WSU in their spot. WAC is probably going to add Cal-State Bakersfield & Utah Valley State. Both still have 8. However I saw on WAC board this is a dead issue because the NCAA nixed the idea of two bids for NCAA basketball.

That said, Weber might like the idea of being the top dog in a sorry division (at least until the others catch up) Look at San Diego St - they're joining a piss poor conference - they should dominate for years - but if it makes them a consistent NCAA Tourney contender so be it.

NAU just got a really good new coach, are paying him one of the top salaries amongst Big Sky mens basketball coaches - look for them to improve leaps and bounds in the coming years.
