vs Tech Let the young guys play tonight? Or solidify rotation

Rorie had a very nice game. Fairly quietly at first.

While it was hard to tell with Akoh not playing, and the opponent being Tech, I'm not sure the defense is as good as it was last year.

Manuel is certainly no drop off. He can shoot, drive and control the ball. Seems like he might have some strength too.

Timmy Falls is an almost unbelievable passer. I'm hoping Oquine can become a bit more athletic.

Dorsey can shoot and obviously play, but I couldn't get a good handle on him. Haven't seen him play before.

The Griz have a lot of players that can get to the hoop. Very unselfish team again this year.

Kramer can block shoots, but I hope his hands are a bit better than they were tonight.

Tech couldn't make a 3 early on, and then couldn't miss in the last 6 or 8 minutes.

Tech could have used their coach Selvig on the court.

Your hoping Oguine "can become a bit more athletic??" I assume this was meant in jest. :? Judging from what went on tonight, it looks like Anderson and Egun are redshirt candidates.

Both have high ceilings for potential. So, that would make sense. Why rush that decision, when it doesn't need rushed. Very wise, decision by Travis.

Manuel being eligible this year is a huge deal. Moorehead is a nice player but he really hasn't played well enough to command 30mpg on a tournament team, meanwhile Manuel has the shooting and athleticism to really upgrade that spot. We still need Bobby to play minutes for us but Manuel has the ability to really usurp Bobby's starting role and give us an upgrade at that spot.

to add to that, I think Moorehead will be a long defensive player and get minutes that way for stretches and based on match ups. Will be interesting rotations this season.

Yup. It was an attempt at a joke that went over my head. That was a joke attempt too.

:thumb: Also..having four tears of Egun and Anderson after the huge graduation losses coming up at the end of this season would be a huge bonus!

If Egun and Anderson are the redshirts, I love that decision. Both have amazing upside, while both would be marginal contributors this year.

I also like the decision to play Ben Carter. Big dude--King of the Foresters' Ball.

A lot of the players looking good already, but not much of a test against a MT Tech team picked to finish 6th in the Frontier this year. Carter should redshirt as I believe he'll be way too slow against real competition.

I suspect Carter may not want to redshirt given he is an Aussie. Also, the Griz need a little size (besides Kramer) coming off of the bench. Carter does set a mean pick! :twisted:

So, think we can potentially pull off the trifecta this year?

Rorie = BSC MVP
Oguine = BSC Defensive MVP
Manuel = Newcomer of the year

Very, very good chance of that.

Not sure what was worse...having to listen to Riley Corcoran on the TV broadcast or filter through all the exceptional knowledge of this thread...

Would love this but Manuel probably wont score enough. Im sure someone has a do it all transfer that will take 20+ shots a night that will get that reward :roll:
