'Minnesota Vikings running back Caleb King was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault in the beating of another man outside a birthday party, the Anoka County sheriff's office said Saturday.

King, who signed with the Vikings as a rookie free agent last year but didn't play in a game, was jailed but hasn't been charged."

I take no pleasure in seeing this kind of criminal conduct by ANY team's player, but...could this open the way for Lex Hilliard to finally secure more quality playing time? Or is this stuff so commonplace in the NFL and elsewhere that it will be dismissed, brushed off, buried or... EGRIZ thoughts here:

I would make him run the field a few times, smoke and have a few beers with him. Then I'd shoot him.

Naw, this is very common in the big league. We all hate it but look at the violent dog killer that is a hero QB? Many other slugs (players) get away with evil ----- but end up being cheered on and getting more and more money. Rape is paid for after the fact........., Money!

Obviously they are racist and a reporter was out to get the Vikings..........................It has to be Engstroms fault.

:coffee:

BTW - I heard the guy was a perfect gentleman to the police officers.............I am sure the charges will be dropped.

Alpha how could you forget that Gwen must have been down there trying to kill off all of the vikings players and their fans. Lynch mobs, and the whole nine yards, damn you Gwen.

I thought you guys are suppose to wait for all the evidence to come out and then wait for the trial before you pass judgement. :?:

Just to close the loop on this thread: Running back Caleb King was released from the Vikings just a day after he was arrested. Vikes did not waste any time with him and did not even await the outcome of any criminal investigation or formal charges. End of story. Perhaps Lex Hilliard can move up on the depth chart now. Go GRIZ in the NFL.

love to see lex climb the chart. too be fair though...had this been adrian peterson that "supposedly" acted like such a moron....he would not have been released the next day. this was a guy that was a practice squad guy, was activated for like 2 games last season, never played, and frankly isn't worth the hassle. the vikes have far too many issues on the field to worry about off-field issues from our 5th or 6th best back.
