Of course no home party can come close to matching the WA/Griz tailgate and then live game action experience, but I'm throwing a last minute party together. I had plans to be off with my son on a college campus visit, but those plans changed. Last year, I went with a crab theme...but due to me clunking around on a broken ankle, I can't manage my crab pots. So it's going to be carnivore city. I'm going with brine soaked baby back ribs and a huge Caesar salad. The Pittsburgh boys are bringing spicy kielbasa and Iron City beer and my Ukrainian friends are bringing vareniki, which is dumplings stuffed with meat, cabbage and potatoes -- sort of like pot stickers, but about the size of your fist. And my Bobcat friends are bringing hot wings with her special sauce --which is so hot, she claims, that all of us will pass out and miss the game. Anyhow, the current head count is 9 Griz and 2 Bobcat fans in the house...so at least we've got a good Griz ratio. And last but certainly not least, it would be so uncouth of me not to have plenty of vodka on hand.
