VERBAL ABUSE AT EWU GAME

In the post game interview with Travis, he mentioned something about some verbal attacks on the GRIZ. I didn’t know anything was happening during the game. Was anyone at the game that can fill us in as to what was happening?

I can tell you that after the game, as Cheney U was heading into their locker room, Ellis Magnuson told my son (just turned 14) and his buddy (who is 13), FTG and Go Cats. They were giving them high fives as they were trying to leave. Venters gave them high fives.

It’s kinda funny cause it pissed off my son (mainly the “go cats”) but you can’t trash talk kids who are just beginning puberty and just wanted to say well done.

This has a little bit of a let’s distract from the results feel to it. There were a couple points during the game where DeCuire and Riley were jawing at each other which also extended to the hand shake line. Shouldn’t they lead by example with more discipline? Did this not contribute to the tenor of the post-game interactions? Were there not fans yelling at EWU players? Granted there is never an excuse to curse at youth, but minutes after a hard fought, intense game blaming 20-21 year olds seems a little misplaced.

Travis actually approached the EWU bench during the game and both coaches were going at each other verbally. Cobb ran his mouth the whole game. Both benches were given warnings.
