Van already has done it against quality opponents He was HUGE and made plays like that all the time last year when he was healthy. I love how short some poster's memories are.

I think its because Van had double digit touches against your 4 toughest opponents (EWU, NAU, MSU, CCU) last year and never eclipsed the 50 yard mark once....

I think he has the potential to have a huge year for the Griz this year, especially with EH limited at this point. He just needs to show it in the bigger games....

Well getting him out in space is the first step. He's much more dangerous getting the ball with a full head of steam already built up (and it doesn't take long for him...)

The blind boys of Alabama can see that using Van, Jones & Henderson in combo to create matchup problems is the formula to success given that the O-Line can provide the time to throw. Now find a away to get Canada the ball out of the backfield (watch some Duck film, please) in the flats or between the Dline & LBs on what is known as a "designed run" within the WEST COAST offense that we use.

Van wasn't even close to 100 hundered percent against EWU but tried to play. He scored a HUGE touchdown right up the middle against the Cats' vaunted front four. I don't care how many touches you have, or how many yards you DON'T GAIN, when you score a TD in the Griz-Cat game and your team only puts up 28, you DELIVERED. Van has proved himself already. He has nothing to prove to the fans as it relates to how he performs against his competition. He had HUGE AND PROFOUND impact on the Grizzly offense last season.

Did you mean that Van did NOT have double digit touches, or what? He didn't have double digit carries in most of those games. Don't understand your post. Van was injured much of the year and not at full strength. Limited his playing time and his effectiveness.

I should blast you for your incorrect comment but I'll just say I didn't say "carries", I said "touches", like in receptions and carries...

I'll give ya the injury though, he wasn't full strength most of the year...

".....he wasn't full strength most of the year..."

^^^ Understatement. Hope this kid can stay healthy this season. Give him three steps....

Travon Van had 13 receptions all of last year. He has 12 ALREADY this year. In fact, he has more receptions than he does carries this year, a transition I'm fine with--get him out into space and he's a man amongst boys. Again, he needs to stay healthy and we'll be fine.
