USF is #2 in the AP Poll

The USA Today/Coaches' Poll has yet to release.

Given the size of their win and the losses by LSU and Cal, I'd say that the jump is justified. In fact, a couple of commentators were making a case for USF to even jump OSU to #1. Speculation is that USF kicking in the door to New Orleans on the heels of Utah and Boise may force a FBS playoff.

I'll tell you what: that George Selvie is a defensive fiend on a level I haven't seen since Lawrence Taylor. He's going to be a major find for an NFL team. I'm very impressed by Matt Grothe, but his style of play won't stand up to an NFL pounding. Of course, that may not be an issue since there's a chance that any NFL team taking him will have a better running game than the Bulls do.

I'm rooting for the Bulls big time. Their passing game coordinator was my position coach at UOP, and he's the best assistant coach I've ever been associated with. Mike Canales is going to be a successful head coach one of these days, his Arizona experience notwithstanding.

Go Bulls! Go FBS playoff! Stick it to those B(C)$ stuffed shirts!

Funny how they are already given more respect than Boise or any other school from the WAS or MWC. I'm sure it has nothing to do with them being from Florida.

I think it has more to do with the fact that they are better than Boise State, Utah or any of those other teams were.

I had South Florida in my top ten from the start of the season. I certainly didnt have them at 1 or 2, but the right teams have lost to put them in this situation. It takes luck to climb the polls sometimes.

However since the Bulls are in a BCS conference they are going to get a lot of credit. But I think its justified credit. They've beaten West Virginia in consecutive years and are on the verge of being the number one team in the nation if they can keep it up. Both the games against Cincinnati and Louisville even though they are down will be the major tests for this team.
