USD over NAU

Potomac, sorry. Not trying to be contentious. Just my view of a pathetic team and program, ours. Spin has nothing to do with it. NAU would have kicked ass in WaGriz with Cookus playing. Admit it.
Oh hi, Nate

Nate? Who is Nate? Evidently, Nate and I agree on at least one thing. Contact Nate, who will confirm your assumption is egregious. Like farting in a moving crowd, and I have, you can always point at someone else. In this case, "Nate." My apologies to "Nate." BTW, you have a great username! :thumb:

I'll disagree with that. If Jensen (our 2nd string QB) or Phillips (our 1st string QB) were playing I think we would have beat NAU even if Cookus hadn't cheap-shotted himself into an early trip to the locker room. Cookus isn't that good. His performances this year back up my statement too. They just got blown out by a non-scholarship program in the playoffs and he looked like absolute ass out there. In fact I think Jensen is a much better QB than him.

Again, we had a WR (our 4th string QB) playing QB for that game against their 2nd string QB and still beat them. To pretend like that wasn't a good win for the Griz and like the Griz benefited more from players being out than NAU did is bit absurd.

Even though this season was a massive disappointment, I'd have to point to that NAU game as one of the highlights of the season. Beating a ranked team with your 4th string QB (who is a WR) at the helm like that was pretty damn impressive. Remember when the Griz beat Idaho with their 3rd and 4th string QBs back under Hauck? It showed the team could overcome some serious adversity to still pull out a W in the end.

Did anyone mention that was a real butt kicking? And that a bunch of kids from about 150 feet above sea level weren’t impacted by the altitude? That excuse just went completely out the window for me. The “playing like their hair was on fire” label would be appropriate of both sides of the ball, they owned bigger versions of the NAU side.

Congratulations to San Diego.

Congratulations to San Diego.

Altitude matters, but mostly when you are constantly sucking air for extended periods like running. Getting a chance to recover, especially when young and in shape helps.

Results of altitude sickness
1. Three turnovers
2. Only 60 yards rushing against a much smaller front seven.
3. Giving up 200 yards rushing by a smaller O-line.
4. Extensive swelling of inflammation while wearing a head set.
5. Befuttled look while wearing head set.

Do you guy even understand how much the altitude effected NAU?

I have a different take. Cookus looked pathetic against San Diego. NAU may have benefited from Cookus being suspended in their game with Griz. They are a better team without Cookus.

Also I wouldn't call Griz "pathetic" under Stitt, just mediocre. Portland St. was "pathetic" this year.

I say Robby comes with Bobby.
He would have to sit a year and miss a year of eligibility.

As he will. He can still play four here right? Or am I missing something?

He would have three to play after sitting next year if he transferred. He redshirted this year.

Yes thanks. Three is what I meant. I just misspelled it. ;-)

That will be perfect, Dad should have things rolling pretty smoothly by the time he hits the field.

Even if Bobby comes back I fully expect Robby to stay at NAU.

Hrmmmm.... I would be fairly certain he would do well here. Seems like a good athlete we would welcome regardless of who he is or isn't related to.

Reason I am speculating is Souers was renewed. Not sure the length of the (new) contract but I don't see NAZ making much noise in the next couple years. Cookass I think will flop and Souers in all honesty seems a bit washed up. Furthermore, he's likely already used to getting yelled at by his dad.

I just think there’s a lot more than just who the coach is to influence whether he stays or goes. He’d be giving up his friends, his network, and possibly a scholarship in order to come play for his dad here.

Not saying he won’t, and I would be THRILLED to see him here, I just don’t think it’s likely. Would love to be wrong, though.
