Calling #5 Wofford the underdog is based largely on the fact that Ga Southern is at home. They’re not that far apart in the poll, and both Sagarin and the RPI numbers call it that way -- suggesting 3-5 point advantage. Really a "pick'em" game. In fact, it's kind of a "throw-away" pick since it sure looked to be the most likely "upset," either way I laid it out.

I believe the number one team is North Dakota State.
It is, but the field width to keep it on one line is limited, so I truncated. My bad

Anyway, I'm about to fix that.

I'm.either going to be a genius or a fool. But I picked ndsu to lose. They might pull it out being at home. However I think they might atleast have a scare.

If NDS were on the road, I might see a glimmer of hope: possible complacency vs a “nothing to lose” opponent. But ND is at home and the numbers hugely favor them. But ... "that's why they play the game."

No great surprise that the Wofford-GS game is leading the way (Thurs morning): That could clearly go either way.

Also understandable that the Illinois State-YSU game is a close second: The teams' RPI numbers are pretty close, and the Sagarin numbers suggest less than a FG difference with I-State playing at home.

I am a bit surprised at how many are picking Villanova to upset ODU. ODU has a huge advantage in RPI, and they're playing at home. Sagarin numbers suggest at least a TD in favor of ODU.

Ya'll might want to root for NDSU in that one. Indiana State may be one of the teams we're fighting for for an at-large bid come November 18th.

Generally agree, just to level the playing field. However, Indiana State may not be in the mix by the end. Not including a probably "gimme" against South Dakota (1-4), Indy State's opponents after NDSU have a combined record of 12-4. Pretty tough, with two of the toughest on the road.

Can't imagine it will last, but Georgetown leads Lehigh 14-7 at the half.

Meanwhile, Youngstown State got off to a quick start against Illinois State: 14-zip with 4 min left in Q1.

Edit: Could get interesting. I-State came back and score, and there are still 2 min left in Q1.

Illinois State leads Youngstown State 35-28. YSU has the ball with 2:44 left in the game to tie it up.

Edit: First upset is official -- IL-ST over YSU.
