Most amazing upset?
Okay, I could (should?) start a separate thread, but it's really the same layout. (Keep voting.)

The results so far suggest another idea: Voters give Fort Lewis and PSU zero chance of pulling an upset, with NoColo and NM Highlands not much better. So which unlikely upset would you consider most unlikely and therefore most amazing?

The Sports Network has released its guesses for the coming weekend at http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/...foot2/writers/infcshuddle_mcdonnell/index.htm

Ones of Big Sky interest include:

South Dakota State 24, UC Davis 18
Montana 44, Liberty 20
Montana State 42, Stephen F. Austin 21
McNeese State 31, Weber State 17
Note that, according to our comparisons, they do not predict any upsets. Check out the link if you want to see their reasoning ... and guesses on some other games

If Stephen F. Austin gains 466 yards against state college, state college will lose. State has no defense, so it is probable SFA will do at least that. Further, with state's weak offensive line, they won't score many points.

No way, I do see the cats potentially losing this but it's not because of their defense. Even with the injuries to the d-line players they are still very good. SFA will not come anywhere close to 466 yards. Their o-line will be dominated and they will not move the ball good at all.

If you'd like to wager on the 466 yards thing PM me and let me know how much.

Indian....no bet..we will see how it turns out. I remember how the Griz ran all over that strong cat defense last year, but maybe they are better this year. For sure, they talk a lot about how good their defense is....

Some interesting stuff out of Laramie:

Wyoming will almost certainly be without their starting QB and one of their more experienced wide receivers. One of the two backup QBs has had some experience (but not a lot), while the other -- a frosh -- has never taken a college game snap. And even before all that, the Pokes had problems on offense:

Twenty-three times this year, the Cowboys’ offense has lined up on third down. Of all those tries, the chains have moved only four times. Wyoming completed one-of-11 third-down conversions against Texas in its season opener. The following week, the Cowboys completed just three-of-12 against Toledo.
More fuel for the upset pickers?

I could certainly see SFA beating the cats. Their offensive line is pathetic. They were pushed around badly by a div ii school and a very weak nonathletic drake. It is beyond fixable with the players they have up front.

The cats will not lose to SFA. The cats have a very talented team that have not got things clicking yet.
Does this sound familliar? Kinda like the griz from 97-11, who came out of the gate sluggish many years and looked so so against divII and subpar fcs teams. The pre season hype given to the cats is making people think they are playing worse then they are. Many folks expected them to come out and win their first two games by 3+ touchdowns and rest the starters in both games. Injuries have plagued them and a o-line yet to gel have caused the slow start. They will be a force by mid season.
Besides as Griz fans there is much to be concerned with upcoming games against teams like SUU,EWU,ISU, and any other team that likes to throw the ball alot. A loss by the cats would be great, but fans who think they are terrible this year are just hoping!

Cat lover, I say they (Cats) are OK. But ranked way to high! After game 6 watch just how the cat team is ranked. Low and below the over rated rank they sit at..........!

Hmmm... sounds like a post from someone who does not know much about our current O line players. As the other poster stated, they have yet to fire on all cylinders as a unit, but it will happen. There are two likely NFL players on our O line right now... they're just very young.

And to Umista... after 6 games we will still be ranked higher than the griz, even if we're 4-2. I can guarantee you'll be 4-2 at best.

Without going into short- or mid-term records -- but based on the way the season has started -- I have an uneasy feeling that this could be the year where Big Sky teams beat each other all the way through. We might come down to the end with three or four teams that have three or four losses -- and we're sweating getting anybody but the automatic bid into the playoffs. :o

(Hope I'm wrong, but it's a scary thought.)

Yea, your o-line will be great in about three years if everyone stays healthy.

Come on now umista, having respect for the rival makes me a cat lover??? I just have a feeling the damn cats will be very good this year.

Yea, I gave up along time ago of thinking the griz will have a down year. Everytime I did, you bastards would be ranked high and look like sh!t in a game and still manage to pull off the win. Happened every year. Kind of like the Cats this last week.

All you kitty-haters who picked Drake over MSU, many of you probably just for spite, were done in by a 13-0 4th quarter. Be that as it may ...

I don't know about that? the sh!tty kitty's are like one injury away from a 3-8 season

      "sh!tty kitty's"    :thumb:

And the winner is (with one still open ... so not final): Cal Poly 24, Wyoming 22.

Weber is down 2 TD at halftime, but maybe they can stage a comeback.
