This is an amazing weekend for FCS football, with four matchups between ranked teams. Plus, some of the unranked opponents look like they could rise up and smite the favored (ranked) team. That’s all aided by the fact that the underdog is at home in five of the games I have included. (And just FYI, two of the losses by William & Mary were to FBS teams, one of which is ranked … #23 Virginia).

Recall that I do not include Big Sky games because people vote their pet hates, rather than the real chance of an upset.

As usual, I have allowed two choices for each voter, and you can still change your vote(s) later.

Tenn Tech and Youngstown.

And after YSU wins UNI will jump up to the top 10 in the polls.
Well played. :thumb:

And that game has received by far the most votes. Still, I have to wonder how much of that is just hatin' on the Panthers. That 4-0 record for the 'Guins is a bit misleading. They did win on the road at Samford … but Samford was lousy (they may be getting their act together now, although that’s still a question). Since then they’ve beat powerhouses [not!]: Howard (1-4), Duquesne (2-2), and Robert Morris (1-4). Not sure that will have them ready to go into Cedar Falls and win.

Agreed. I’ve been wondering for awhile how good Youngstown is this season. It’ll be interesting to see how that game turns out.

The Penguins look like a really good team - 4th in the FCS in scoring offense, 4th in rushing yards per game, 15th in defensive YPG, 16th in scoring defense, 18th in offensive YPG.

The Panthers do have a top 20 defense in terms of both YPG and scoring, but their offense barely cracks the top 100 in terms of yardage (98th) or scoring (84th).

I think YSU beats UNI by a W--I--D--E margin this week.

I agree that YSU does look good ... on paper. My doubts arise from the soft schedule they've played (see above) to post those good stats.

I think Central Ark and Nichols ARE TOTALLY OVERRATED...
Neither is a top 20 team

Kennesaw state is also way over rated. They play Monmouth and South Alabama on Oct 19 and 26th. Will show if they are anywhere near UM.
Have games left with Hampton, Campbell & Presbyterian, Played: point U and Reinhardt...
There only "quality game" was Kent State (Ken. SU lost by 3) Kent State is 2-2 and gave up 62 to Bowling Green last week.

YSU still way out in front. If you have the DirecTV Sports Pack and either channel 665 or 788 is available in your area, you can see/record that game. And streaming is also available.

Those of you who had Stony over JMU have some hope: They've gone into overtime, 38-38.

I myself have gone 50-50: Nicholls did beat Central Arkansas, but this is not Samford's year to rebound.

All those who picked YSU ... came close. YSU lost by a TD. Northern Iowa pretty much certain to move into the top-10.

EDIT: Dang! JMU won the OT.

Barring a screw-up by one team or the other, the Tennessee Tech - SEMO game is also about to go into overtime.
