SUU certainly isn't a gimme, and the fact that it's senior day for them (especially Sorensen), makes me a little worried. Then again, they just lost to Weber at home.

Last I checked Weber gave Eastern all they could handle as well.

In Ogden, while we had 3 LBs out. :coffee:

Wouldn't be surprised to see UND beat MSU. MSU's pass defense is very questionable...not 660 yards questionable, but still not very good.

Was last game the beginning of the common end of season slide for the Cats? Guess we'll see!

I don't have anything to add, but I thought the above highlighted was VERY funny!

Strong work, PG!! :thumb: :thumb:

The Cats held Kaufman to ONE catch! U guys have been predicting this kinda s--t Every week! Face it. The Cats are likely going to the show, and you will be home for a change.

My post had nothing to do with whether the cats would be going to the playoffs or not... Just stated that I wouldn't be surprised to see UND beat MSU. Sorry that it caused your panties to get all twisted like that :P

I wouldn't be surprised to see MSU put up big offensive numbers against UND either. If I was betting money on the game, I'd bet on MSU.

This is going to be a pretty good test to see how your secondary holds up against a very good QB in a very pass heavy offense.

Walkon, if by going to the show, you mean the playoffs, well damn you really went out on a limb calling that one. If the Cats don't make the playoffs at this point, I will consider it one of the worst failures in the history of that program. Especially considering many of you claim this is your most talented and deep team in a long, long time and you are 6-1 past the halfway point and don't have to play Cal Poly or NAU. In other words, they better make the playoffs!!!

Also, YES, the Cats secondary is very questionable against stellar passing teams. I'm sorry, but Vernon Adams was NOT stellar in Bozeman, and most rational Bobcat fans will admit that. Having said all that, the Cats will thump UND by at least two TD's, probably more. In spite of a weak secondary, the Cats are just a flat-out better team, with a very good defensive front, and an offense that can score in hurry if it needs to. Also, one thing the Cats do really well, with the exception of the EWU game is convert on third downs in BIG situations. They may not have the best overall conversion rate, but when it matters, like at Davis and SUU, McGhee seems to always come up big by avoiding a sack and making a play with his feet. I predict MSU has no reason to be on upset alert this week.

Sorry I blew up

The Cats are 5th on the conference in pass defense, (Not Great), but first in Pass Def. Efficiency. Our secondary held up very well against arguably the best receiving corp in the country two weeks ago, and have been playing progressively better since the start of the season. This has a lot to do with getting our full pass-rush together as of late. We will get pressure with the front four and our linebackers can all cover in space. I'm not saying UND wont move the ball. I just think we'll get more than enough stops and if we don't turn it over a ton, our offense will have no problem scoring points.

Adams was running for his life and got hit a lot. The UND QB may be more polished with a quicker release and accuracy, but he can't get out of the pocket either.

Actually, that's when Adams is at his best. Did you see his play on sportscenter? He's normally very good on the move and when he's flushed out but he was NOT against the Cats. I'm not arguing how good the Ctas' front four is, in fact, I'm pretty sure I said how good they were in my post. But saying the Cats' secondary SHUT DOWN Kauffman is a little misleading. Adams was off and rational people know that. I am willing to bet that if you watch the game film the way the coaches do, you'll see Kauffman open on many plays where he wasn't targeted. Anyway, kind of stupid to be trying defend you're squad against a post in which I said they'll beat thump UND by at least 14 points, probably more and where I said they are just a flat-out better team than UND.

I would agree with all of that. EWU had some receivers open if Adams would have had time to find them. Our secondary is not great, but the pressure created by our front 4 makes them look good because they don't usually have to cover for too long. If they can disrupt the route just long enough to let our DL get to the qb, they're successful. But when the rush doesn't get there, we give up some big plays.

I also agree that the Cats win by 14+ this week. I'm giving Sac the nod for my upset pick!

you clearly haven't looked at many stats nor watched any MSU games

Actually I have...when you guys go up against a good passing QB you seem to give up a lot of yards in a hurry. Your secondary looked..very iffy... against Drake (gave up over 300 yards passing to a non-scholarship QB), got torched for over 400 against SFA... Sure the EWU QB didn't have a great game against you...but
It has looked a lot better than it dI'm not sure I'd be ready to label your secondary as "good" based off of that one game.
id earlier in the season though... I'll give you that.

If you guys put together a good game against UND and hold their very pass heavy offense in check, then I'll be more impressed.

Your run defense however is pretty damn impressive.

UM v. UND = 660 passing yards
MSU v. UND = 165 passing yards, 180 total yards

:coffee:

Sac State just scored ... now lead 35-23, with about 3 min left.

Edit: That didn't last long. Long pass from CP, missed 2-pt. Now 35-29 Sac, about 2 min left. (Can you say on-side kick?)
