Up to 155 Players Plan to Boycott NFL Scouting Combine

"Up to 155 players represented by 13 different agencies are prepared to announce on Monday a formal boycott of the 2022 Scouting Combine."

"The NFL issued on Saturday an email regarding restrictions that will apply to this year’s Combine, due to the ongoing pandemic. The league intends to create a bubble environment, which will strictly limit the ability of players to interact with others.

Hopefully, the effort prompts the kind of revisions that will get the players to choose to show up. If not, the Combine will proceed with nearly half of the 324 invited participants not participating."

"On Saturday, the combine informed prospects that they are permitted to invite one "medical support person" -- essentially a trainer -- that must be fully vaccinated. All meals and snacks will be provided by the combine, as prospects will spend their time in Indianapolis in a "bubble" environment, with limited exceptions. Players who violate the combine's new policies will be disqualified from further participation and will be sent home, according to a memo attained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero."

I hope they hold out.

I think they will.

It's nearly half of all players who were invited but it depends on who the players are. A guy like Troy would benefit mightily by going instead of skipping. But many would be just as better off waiting for their pro day.

I back the players 100% in this. Having their own people there, trainers, nutritionists etc. is very important for a lot of these guys. Not to mention their agents. I see the players holding their ground on this one and just leave it to their pro day if they see that benefitting them the most.

NFL will tell them to pound sand and they’ll have a change of heart as it gets closer.

NFL is an employer, that pays millions. If you want a chance, you better listen to your potential boss. If not kick rocks and make shit. Why chance losing an awesome future because of your political beliefs.. Science > politics. People need to remove their heads from their ass.

Get your head out of your protected ass to come out to play in the NFL, kneel for the National Anthem and take your CTE like a man. Why chance losing an awesome opportunity like that.

Right, because all the agents repping these players prioritize making political statements. Moron.

Even though it doesn't matter anymore, as the NFL has killed the bubble idea, BUT think of it this way... What if your boss was able to use high end laptops, with software that could track every sale you do in real time, and compare that with with every other top sales person in the industry. Your boss has 5 people with him, all of them in charge of tracking your every move, and reporting back to him on what you just did... In this same time, you are given a notebook and a pencil (no pencil sharpener allowed) to do your entire job, and try to show that YOU are the best... You have 3-4 days to show him that you are best for the job. Wouldn't you want to have a laptop (trainer) your I-phone/mobile device (nutritionist) and at least a couple contact leads (coaches/mentors) to show everything you can do? If you get the job, you will get the top of the line in almost all these things (unless you get drafted by my Detroit Lions)...

You poor soul. Are you seriously a fan of the two most woebegotten FB teams in the galaxy? Why? Are you a cutter? Didn’t both the cats and lions go winless in the same year? How did you survive that year?

And a follow-up question if I may: is it true your lions will pick the cowboy? How do you feel about that? Would you ever project your wish for pain and disappointment onto your favorite player?

I have had 2 friends play for the Lions, and liked them before then as well... My FBS team is the Michigan Wolverines, so it hasn't been easy. This year was good though. I have mixed feelings about Troy going to My Lions.. Would love to have him on my favorite NFL team, BUT I also think he deserves better than that.
