Unproven players

Of players who have yet to be rotational players or haven't played decisive roles yet, who are you most excited for?

For me:
DEFENSE: Jareb Ramos, Genatone, and Elijah Brady.
OFFENSE: Ah Yat, Lucas Freitas

Surprisingly enough: couldn't honestly list any young RB, WR, or TE. There's way too much depth at those positions carrying over, including a healthy Grossman. I'm sure there's plenty of young talent at these positions. Realistically, how does a younger player beat these guys out?

Agree 100% on offense. I’d say Genatone and Rausch on D. Ramos is someone I’ve been excited to see since he signed his NLI but I’m a bit shocked, and beginning to question if he’s gonna reach the level that the hype that came with him talked about. I was figuring last year he should’ve been Gubners back up but instead a 20 pound lighter Detrick played the majority of the Gubner releif reps. Now in saying that, I get that he’ll only be a RSSo and I may be, and hoping I am, a bit overly critical. Obviously I would love nothing more then to be wrong and watch him blossom into, not the next Alex Gubner, but the next Jerrob Ramos.

I too am with you on that thinking of Ramos.
As the roster stands now, physically he's really the only 1 that fits the bill. Even if he doesn't start, does he fall to worse than 2nd team? If so, either he's a big disappointment or we're loaded there. After seeing what Gubner did, I'd be damn motivated to inherit that position.

Griz football is a history of well recruited no-name backups, who, given their opportunity, became the stars/studs for the next set of well recruited no-name backups. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and relax. :thumb:

I think we'll be hearing the rostad name a lot on defense between Carson at LB and Tyson at safety. Both were stalwart SPTs guys this year. Offensively, we'll see some new olineman emerge... I'm hoping Dillon Botner has a healthy off-season and fall camp... He's developed a ton in terms of his body, and I have heard great things about him.

It is Rostad for me on defense, largely just because of the athlete he was as a senior. Smart kid who made great decisions in split seconds, too. I've been hibestly surprised he didn't emerge sooner, but I have a feeling this is his year.

Offensively, I'm really just hoping it is the QB that breaks out. Whichever guy ends up with the job.

It always seems like the top dog special teams players are the next breakouts. Think back on Dante Olsen and Gradney recently who dominated special teams, and then became position studs. If that trend continues, then Genatone, Rostad and Barnum are going to make noise.
