Un-official adult PSU game thread.

Ya, guess they didn't have it queued up just right, but some it banked in after the buzzer. Drratts

And Mays missed with a second left.

Missed opportunities but I still love em.

GO HORNETS!! (To borrow a phrase, albeit somewhat meaningless now). (Except to losses by NAU would be... ... priceless.

I really think that Criswell's mistakes at the beginning of the 2nd half really hurt the Griz. It started PSU's run and took away some opportunities Montana could have had. Sommers has to get credit though, that kid really gutted out some nice plays. He's going to be a good one.

It's tough seeing those plays out of Kevin when he normally doesn't make them, but hopefully they're out of his system. He needs to learn from them and then forget them. A couple mistakes is nothing to be ashamed of though, he should come out with a fire the rest of the way out.

Another thing, that lineup of Ellis, Matthews, Martin, Criswell and Mayes was really fun to watch at the end of the game. They were all over the court and just electrified the place.

Dlouhy, Strait and Hasquet didn't do anything wrong, those 5 just lit the place up. It's hard to argue not playing those guys the way they were going.

I think Coach K should've stayed with them (and the Momentum) in overtime, rather than putting Andrew back in. They crawled back into the game, let them finish it off! Hindsight is 20-20, but when L.K. went back to a "traditional line-up" for OT, PSU immediately went up by 7, and then scrappers were back at it, trying to get us back in the game.

Well, what an exciting game!! I'm off oxygen now and settled into my 3rd red wine.

We can get real picky, but mine is the TO on the coach. The duffus that got to shoot made two and that was the game any way you count it. Krysko, God love him, needs to chill a bit.

Well, that was my mistake. The quote was not in quote marks and that which was was my brilliant reply.

Go Griz!!

Well you can't say it wasn't exciting! I am sure you could hear the Griz fans going nuts.

The Griz lost that game in the first 10-12 minutes of the second half by playing very passive on D. PSU has a couple guys that can shoot and they got some pretty easy looks. We also had some unforced turnovers and our Defensive Rebounding was pathetic.
That isn't to take anything away fropm PSU because they got the job done. They could have folded in OT, of course they folded to put it there.

They small lineup Krysko went to really busted their ass to get us back in the game and force OT. To start the OT we let Schroeder have a wide open look at a 3 and PSU got a little momentum going. I thought that was huge. Our guys expended so much energy getting us back that I think they thought OT was going to go like the last couple minutes the way they started the OT. Mayes, Martin, Ellis, Criswell, and Mathews really worked hard out there. SDfan, I saw your comment about Matt, he id d great but it was a team effort that brought the Griz back, not just Matt. In case you didn't notice we had basically 4 guards in there at times. That isn't taking anything away from Matt as I said, but I think your lobbying effort for more PT for Matt should be in a different thread. I don't blame you that wasn't the place for it in my opinion.

Anyway, NAU kicked the crap out of Sac so it takes the pain away a little. Fact is, you have to win the tournament to go to the Big Dance anyway.

Let's get out and suport the Griz Monday night in what will be the Griz Seniors last time in Dahlberg, until practices for the BSC Tourney and the NCAA of course! :thumb:

Damn near got lost going to the game. I momentarily forgot which Gym the game was at and headed for the wrong place until my wife gave me "that look".

backer, sorry I didn't mean it as a plug for more PT. I was just noticing in THIS GAME that when he would come in they would make another run, thats all, and I realize that it wasn't all him. Maybe there is just more flow with him and the team because he played so much last year. I like what Ellis brings to the table definately.

SD,

I didn't think you were, too much anyway, and nothing wrong with lobbying for your guy. It was pretty good strategy when Krysko decided to play "small ball". I think it caught PSU off guard, the Griz got the Mo going and it is hard to turn that around. Conversely PSU got it at the start of OT and the Griz didn't quite finish the job. It was one exciting game the last 9 minutes, including OT.
