UM vs EWU

This is a match up of two teams with much to prove. Both teams had less than expected pre-seasons and now have something to prove. EWU's claim to fame in pre-season was nearly beating #7 Oklahoma early on. They threw that game away as they did several others. Their weakness is the lack of a big man to dominate inside. If Seyfert has a breakout game it could be trouble for the Eagles. A great match up should be Davis vs Snow and Criswell vs Barnard. This game will gauge of where these two teams are early in the season in the weakened Big Sky.

I do not think the Eags will lose on their home court. The Eags bounced back after losing to Gonzaga with a road win over Santa Clara. The Griz looked bad against GU.
GO GRIZ--just like football.
I'll be watching the GU-Pepperdine game on TV.
UCLA plays WSU tomorrow night in the Spokane Arena. Lots of choices for basketball fans.

I agree with Observer, that if Seyfert has a break out game, then Griz will have a very good chance to win. Seyfert's best game was in the holiday tournament and that opened up things enough that Davis had his best two games. Seyfert needs to play like he did so that he can relieve Davis of the double teaming on him. Davis is to small to overcome that.

Plus, somehow, Criswell has to relax and get his shot back.

Without the above, I don't think the Griz will win.

I'll be in Cheney Thursday nite, like every year. WSU and USC on Saturday nite at the arena. Check this out, I go to the games with my 78 year old father, who spends alot of his time in a wheelchair. We have to have disabled seats. We saw GU and Georgia back in November and the disabled seats were $13 apiece. WSU gouged us for $18 a seat! So we are gonna see two less talented teams for 10 more bucks. Hard to figure. What does a disabled seat cost in Missoula? (You must have them).

If the games against Zaga are any indication it looks like we have a better offense and EWU has better defense. We scored nearly 20 more points but we also gave up nearly 20 more points. Granted I think part of the reason Zaga didn't score well against EWU is that they kinda got out of synch because they weren't really expecting to lose Skinner and Fox after just 5 minutes each and not so much that EWU played awesome defense.

We're at 207 in Sunday's RPI ratings...EWU is at 209 so it should be a good game. One thing worth nothing is that we're playing the 55th toughest schedule this season (conference and non-conference) which gives some explaination to our losing streak (the Missoulian said our non-conference was 22nd toughest).

Good luck tonight Griz. This team R E A L L Y deserves some luck. I too was looking at how EWU played GU compared to Griz. Conclusion, Griz had a better game and should win tonight and start their run at sweeping the Big Sky and off to the Big Dance. Three strikes and you're not out, there's always something else you can do to win.
