UM V MSU women

Good to know. Lost connection on audio and live stats over on montanagrizzlies.com. Foxsports.com has the latest @ LG 37 - 34 with 4:40 left in the first. ESPN doesn't have a thing on it. Bozos!!!

Great rally by the LG, they were down 83-64 at one point with about 6 to go...Cats, to their credit, shot the lights out and played a spirited game on both ends. LG rally just a little short-

Definitely a big win for the Cats. I expect in coming years that there will be a lot of close battles between these two teams. UM will hopefully not be winning by 32 points plus as has been known to happen.

I still expect the Lady Griz to win the conference when all is said and done. They are just so talented across the board.

it's remarkable the success robin has had playing primarily montana kids. imagine where the men's team or our football team would be if they did that. you'll notice that last night, we started five montanans, while the cats started one. we played ten players, nine from montana, while the bobcats played ten too, only one from montana.

i've often thought, the way to even the odds against selvig if you're the cats is to recruit out of state, and that's just what binford has done. their leading scorer last night is from australia, while strand and seindensticker are two outstanding recruits from the state of washington. unless we are able to sign joslyn tinkle, i suspect the one-sided nature of our rivalry with montana state has ended.

You raise some excellent points. However, I heard similar comments in the mid 90s...Robin continues to compile a roster of quality players, mostly Montana kids, and wins year in and year out. I don't see that changing anytime soon...

Yeah, too bad the LG have just so many scholarships to grant. Would have been interesting if the likes of Mandy Close (Oregon State., 2002-06) out of Bozeman, Dawn Allinger (Washington State by way of Bozeman hs-1996 Olympian-USA Team Handball Women's National Team-Washington State's wbb NCAA Tournament Team), Angie Thill (University of Utah) out of Belt, Montana, decided to stay in-state to play wbb?

Of course, just down the road over in Moscow, Idaho was a pretty good player as well, granted, out of state but close enough to have been at one time considered I guess, that went on to play wbb for the University of Texas from 1983-87, whose team was undefeated and a NC winner in 1986. Kodak All-American, inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007, by the name of Andrea Lloyd.

Yeah, it truly is amazing, isn't it?

I suppose there's been a couple others along the way as well over the past couple years; don't need to mention others do I?...besides, they're probably just a bunch of country hicks from the backwoods or thereabouts anyways. Right?
