JCU is right about some of things he has posted. The girls at colleges today are nothing close to the Women that you older men are married to. This "Slut Walk" is all part of liberal propaganda on the fake "War on women." Nevermid the fact that more women get accepted to graduate schools than men. Nevermind the fact that single women in their 20's make more than single Men in their 20's. Nevermind that over 75% of women believe they can go as far as they want to in their career and don't feel that gender is holding them back.

Obama's fake war on women is laughable at best. And it won't work, he will get murdered in this election once the debates start against Romney.

Apparently (some) modern day women also hire a criminal lawyer, before reporting the matter to any authority or going to a medical facility. The lawyer then lobbies to get the accused in trouble, cooperates with the media to get (bad) press coverage for the accused, and writes letters to the athletic director (copied to the media) pointing out his views of the AD's decisions (while claiming not to care whether the accused player is allowed to practice or not). I wonder if the lawyer also fights to keep the accuser's texts from being seen in the university process? Does this look like seeking justice or being vindictive?

The most common reason women ask for sexual assault or abuse charges to be dropped is because of indimidation by the accused. That is a fact. Not sure what happened here, but I find it troubling that many on here are screaming "liar" to the woman, when they have absolutely no clue on what happened.

If she was intimidated why wouldn't she just call the police and tell them about the person threatening her or w.e? It's pretty hard not to scream liar at something like this. How old are you man? The definition of rape has been liberalized just like everything else in this nation. This is in vogue by the "progressives", who believe that the 80% middle class, should stand aside while they patronize every fringe group and minority in this country.

These young girls dress like street walking sluts, get totally smashed with guys, and then cry rape the next morning when they sober up and their panties have a gooey load in them. What they don't seem to understand, is that human males are genetically programmed to pro-create. They will stuff it in any warm receptacle available to them, especially when impaired by alcohol or drugs. Usually the rapists are close to the victim. Often its a boyfriend, ex-partner, close friend, roommate, or even a blood relative. Consequently, the accused and the victim are going to know many of the same people. Often, the accussed or the accussed friends will use intimidation tactics to get the victim to drop the charges. This happens even more frequently in domestic/spousal battery cases.

I'm 29 and married, but its been the lesser part of a decade since I was single and "chasing skirt". I still go out to the bars and to parties on occasion. I've seen women in these settings that leave little to the imagination. Although, it really doesn't matter if women have gotten "sluttier" or not. If a women does not consent to sex, it is rape. It wouldn't matter if a girl walked around butt naked with a bullseye painted on her butt and a neon "open for business" sign around her neck, if she does not consent, it is rape. Guys that knowingly are having sex with women that are too wasted or blacked out to think fall into that category.

I don't know what happened in this case. It just annoys me that people are automatically assuming that the girl is a liar because she dropped the case, when it just as likely could have been a number of other reasons.

What's your source for this "fact"?

While not directly on point, this linked article, which summarizes various studies, doesn't seem to support your assertion. My sister in law is a victim witness coordinator and her husband is a prosecuting attorney. This is something they frequently deal with. I can't dig up any sources to substantiate that "fact", but it is a common reason why sexual abuse and rape cases are dropped. I'm not saying that this is what happened here. I have no idea. Nor does anybody on this board. So crying out accusations that she is a "liar" and a "slut" are ignorant to make.

They seem to hang with decent guys who I'm sure would come down HARD if any guy made a move that put them in harms way. They are down to earth young ladies with common sense and have had no problems in this sense.

One thing I seem to see in these cases is booze, hard liquor. When I was in college several decades ago we drank beer. It's pretty hard to get "blackout" drunk when you are quaffing beer vs. booze. I think this scenario is where the problems start and hope all of our young people use some common sense that will lead to a reduction in this problem, because no one wants this to continue.

I dont know if anyone else on this board has noticed a change in Missoula music scene but that has a huge roll in these offenses. Lately within the last couple years Missoula has turned into a Dubstep\Techno scene and they are playing a lot of shows around here. What do these shows bring? They bring in Ecstasy,Molly, Cocaine and everything else they can snort up their nose. Its on big effin Rave here in Missoula. So now you have a bunch of horny wacked out students rolling on ecstasy every week around town looking for sex where ever they can get it. Just look around this summer if your around missoula. You're going to see fliers posted around town for 24 hour/ weekend parties being held on private properties. I really do believe that this music scene is causing a lot of these sexual assault cases. If you think im blowing smoke up your a$$ then go to a show for yourself to believe it. You'll see what im talking about.... :twocents:

I honestly think GC touched on something pretty true of today's generation. Granted, I am too young to have experienced the hippie free love attitude of the 60's and 70's, but have heard so many awesome stories of what a great fun time it was. It sounds like similar parties, just different generations, and much different definitions. Is it possible, what used be thought of "Free Love", is now in many cases, defined as "rape", or "sexual crimes"?

Every generation has the common variables of drugs, alcohol, and being young adults involved. Has the mindset, awareness, and definitions changed that drastically over the years? I am thinking that is very possible.
