UM Leadership?

Not saying a word is the best possible legal strategy. It's the worse possible public relations strategy. The President has made a choice as to which to choose.

Would you make the best legal move rather than the best public relation strategy? When backs are against the wall survival is more reasonable than ever. Engstrom would be goat if he showed is hand now as would anybody if they had an upcoming legal battle.

Internal information is a privilege... & IMO the Missoulian has not earned it.

Who cares about the Missoulian? What about the rest of us? Do the citizens of MT and UM alumni and friends not deserve a bit more information and communication?

Of course we know you care, without the ability to act like your susperior to others through the accomplishments of college athletes, you would wilt away and die.

The thing many people on this site (which is bias to the athletic perspective, of course, and often forgets that Engstrom is responsible for the entire academic institution) are not considering is this:

Sometimes true leadership is making what you feel to be the right decision even if it is unpopular or criticized.

What is done is done, and Engstrom isn't going to get fired today or tomorrow or in the short term so I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt. He knows more about this situation than any of us do and is doing what he thinks is right. Contrary to what some on here are implying, he is not out to intentionally destroy the football program or the University. He did what he felt had to be done. Some who are not emotionally invested in the situation like all of us would say that is the biggest trait of leadership there is.

Right now, I am hurt, and disappointed in O'day/Pflu's departures, and the way has been handled, or not handled, depending on your interpretation. The more I hear, and take in, the more I am beginning to think there will be more people being let go. At least at the administrative power positions. In time, I just want to hear a complete, and honest story of the what, and whys.

With that said, "Any support I have whatsoever toward the powers to be, will be GONE, if Wayne Tinkle becomes some sort of victim, or leaves on his own because of this crap." I understand he is a respected, and in consideration for some possible better jobs, but that better be the only reason he moves on.

Wayne deserves whatever has asks the university for. In his time here, I can honestly say, "There is not anyone, I would rather see as the Men's GRIZ Basketball coach.....nobody. " Wayne not only wins, but has stellar citizens, off the court, great grades, and true role models. He also addresses problems, before they turn to issues, professionally, and personally.

It does make me wonder,why, the U of M is silent regarding Wayne's position? He has done an excellent job being the man in charge of mens basketball, and a huge asset to the university. Regardless of what is, or is not said about Wayne, he has my complete support. Good Job, Wayne!!!

Right. And people don't seem to understand that attorneys and possible lawsuits are involved in this. Anything stated in public can hurt their case later.

I talked with two former Griz players playing golf on spring break in Arizona, and they heard that there is much more behind the scenes that the public does not know about. They also heard that Jordy is finished playing at UM, and not by his choice. Again, don't kill the messenger. This is not me saying it, this is what I heard from players.
