UM gets Stockton but misses Sikma

ya gotta be kiddin' me! we just took on the wac's best team this spring, led them wire to wire, beat them far worse than the final score indicates in a game of crucial national significane to both conferences and both schools, and you say we couldn't compete in the wac???!!!

if you don't think we could compete in the wac, are you saying we might as well kiss off the pre-season boise state game? that we'd lose to idaho and new mexico state, or wouldn't be competitive with utah state and fresno state?

griz fans remind me of people who are asked how rich they'd like to be. no matter how much money they have, everybody says they want twice as much as what they have, and then then'd be happy. griz fans are always saying, "give us two or three years." at montana in all major sports--men's bb, women's bb and football--the future is now.

I understand all that City and I dont disagree with you, but I just think that on a night to night basis we would struggle, I want to get out of the BIG Sky as much as you but I personally think we need 1-3 more years, then we will be right up there. Until we get half of the national exposure that Gonzaga is getting, then we are not ready. We will be there, just give it time

Regarding the other montana sports. I see where City is coming from and agree with him very much. My concern is if we wait too long we may never again have a better opportunity.

The have built a huge multimillion dollar top of the line call center just off I-90 near the airport, right behind the new Harley dealership. They just had the grand opening last week and plan to employ 800 plus in missoula by march of 07. The call center has the best of technology, the best of benefits, etc. IF they do well here, which with the $ they have invested here, I think it will lead to other companies coming to Missoula. If it is a good relationship I would not be surprised to see them become a big player in Missoula with lots of pull in time. Only time will tell that though. I encourage anyone in missoula or visiting to check out the facility, anyone will be impressed.

For all of you that are curious about Directv here is a press release and links to research more. Sounds like to me they plan to make a big impact in missoula.

I hope one or both those work, if not. Just go to Directv.com and do the research yourself.

It is amazing how a thread can sometime morph, and Morph again. But from Jack Sikma's kid to Direct TV Thats a morph

In all due respect, Montana is not known as a football school, except by those that follow 1AA. Most football fans consider us to be a small college division 2 team. Unless we move up to a better conference and start competing at a higher level , that will be the perspective of Montana football.

ESPN and other sports channels views us as a cake walk, or that team you play to warm up with at the begging of the year...
