i think some people confuse rankings for the masses of fan bases speaking. i guess we could make a case for #2 as we are undefeated and we started #3. however, you would be hard pressed to find any cat fan so sure that we are the third best team in the country....

not sure why you guys are so concerened with the cats and their ranking. i promise you not even the cat players care this much about their #2 ranking.... :?

Most Griz fans don't believe we should be the #2 team in the country

Cats have played a DII, Non scholarship FCS, and a FCS school

Griz have played three FCS schools

But, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt at this point as you were lacking Minter ( a beast) and Daly up front. It can be a long season and your lack of depth at Dline and lack of age and depth at Oline could become the biggest issues regarding your season. But, personally I hope you guys hang on because I'm not sure where the Griz will be ranked by the Brawl, but I am confident at this point with what I have seen that the Griz appear to be the better of the two teams. Now a lot could change between then and now.

That's actually a pretty solid, well thought out post. I think most cat and griz fans realize that it's week 3 and polls mean exactly 2 things. 1. Jack and 2. Shit.

I think both the cats and griz certainly have some deficiencies right now, and neither one look like a championship team at this point in the season. Lots can and will happen (both positive and negative) between now and November. Should be a fun season.

2506: our defense is young but big and strong--300 lb DT's !!! Your D is supposed to be battle tested and a veteran group--I think an objective observer, which I am not obviously, would have to say they have not played that well thus far, especially against Drake, a non-scholarship 1-AA team, and SFA.

Our young, big, strong, and fast D is probably why said backup freshman QB was sacked 5 times and Liberty averaged less than one yard per carry. They had to throw it against us because our huge DT's and fast LB's stuffed their running game !!! :clap: :clap: :clap:

We're not perfect--our secondary being young is gullible at times and bites on bootlegs that turn into long pass plays, but I think we'll get better and better as the year progresses unless we are decimated by injuries.

It is a majority of kitty fans who are of the belief that not only are the Wicked Griz of the West dead but that the kitties are exactly where they should be ranked. Last Saturday after I gassed up and grabbed a cup of Jo before hitting the road to Missoula, I listened the the conversation of two rabid Cat fans talking about the rankings and the Cats v Griz foes of the week.

Some Cat fans really need to remove the blue tinted glasses and realize that your fan base isn't very far from becoming exactly what they dislike so much, a majority of Griz fans.

i don't know. i was at five guys in missoula lat weekend and two clearly rabid griz fans were talking about how there was a cat on a bacon in outer space! and something about winning the national championship too....

I don't formulate my opinion based upon two fans, I look at kittie nation page and it is full of fans who are glowing in the afterbirth of the newly reborn Cats and are praying at feet of DM. I will concede however that in an equal ratio, if the shoe were on the other foot, there would be a large group of Griz fans celebrating the ranking.

yep. we do like DM. he's a great player for us. we certainly don't him different than you do your own. the three page love-fest with your own DM should make that pretty clear..... :lol:

All kidding aside, your beloved Shi##y Kitties are in trouble when they go up against Southern Utah on the road, Eastern at home, and North Dakota and Sac State again on the road.

I think your Shi##y Kitties come into Missoula in late November with at least one conference loss, maybe even 2 or 3.

We also have a huge game against Eastern on the road, and that is going to be tough as well, but The GRIZ with a redshirt frehman QB don't have as high of expectations placed on us as you guys do with a veteran QB and supposedly a tough, veteran D.

We'll see--I think there is a slim to nill chance that based on the way you have played thus far your Shi##y Kitties come into Missoula undefeated in late Nov.

PS: We also have not played a Div. II cupcake and have played a higher ranked team (App State) at their place than you guys have thus far. Don't worry, though, that will start to change when you have to go to Southern Utah!!! :shock:

And griz fans get upset over the ESG-GCG chant and find it immature ... :roll:
