Any fans? Anyone going to watch?

Will Franklin need more surgery on his face after Silva dismantles him again? I hope it's a better match than the first one was.

Will Sylvia get by Vera? Or will the "truth" show him he needs more than a fancy haircut and a couple of big punches, like Couture did?

Too bad Fedor Emelianenko signed with Bodog. Scared of the 44 year old Randy Couture do you imagine? Or does Bodog really pay better than Zuffa? Good luck in the Movies Randy.

How about Serra/Hughes Dec 29th? I'm rooting for Serra...I was rooting for him to shock the world against GSP too...never really thought it would happen but it did. I just don't see how he beats Hughes though. Is Serra physically strong enough to withstand the ground and pound that Hughes brings and work for a submission from his back? Hughes would be a fool to stand and trade after he saw what happend to GSP.

For those of you who aren't fans of UFC or MMA, please move on....skip it. :thumb:

I think Franklin will end up being 0-2 against Silva.

Word on the street is that Couture gave up his belt because he was "only" getting $250,000 a fight, and Liddell was getting $750,000.

Don't have a link, its just something I heard.

Smart move on Fedor's part. If you're signed with Bodog, you can fight with other organizations, apparently this isn't the case if you're with UFC.

Man! sounds like Couture....a living legend in the sport....was seriously getting screwed on that deal. Dana White seems pretty smitten with Liddell. I don't really get it....he had a long string of wins but I wouldn't really consider the guy a great face of Mixed Martial Arts....all he's got is big punches/knock out power and take down defense...well all he shows most of the time anyway and for a while all he needed. Couture is so much more well rounded. I still can't believe Liddell beat him twice. I'll miss Couture as the fight analyst.

So, Fedor can fight in other Orgs.....Seems to me if you can't fight on a UFC card you are in the "back alley" of the sport. Doesn't sound like the UFC lets anyone fight but people they have signed. I think it's great that when they bought UFC they went big and made something out of it...the exclusion of fighters from other Orgs may hurt them in the long run. I think people want to see Fedor...and his brother for that matter....Bodog just seems so small time to me.

Bodog seems to have their hands in just about all things labeled as "Entertainment". Their main office is in Antigua, and it looks like their empire is expanding.

I think the main reason Fedor signed with them, is that he can fight anyone he wants to, regardless of the Organization that that particular fighter is aligned with. He didn't sign with them for the money, because from what I hear, they agreed to pay him $25,000 a fight.

As good as he is, and having the freedom to fight against other Organizations that have much better exposure to the public than Bodog might have been all the incentive he needed.

I know Randy wanted to fight Fedor. Its a shame that UFC let him slip away. UFC needs a real "Role Model", and IMO, Captain America filled that need, nicely...although Chuck, and BJ Penn happen to be my favorite fighters.

My first thought on Fedor was that he chose Bodog because he didn't want Dana White telling him who to fight...with the Pride guys taking their lumps in the Octagon, Crocop, Hua, Henderson, Herring ...why not at least hold off untill Couture is retired, retired or get some fights in a cage before you have to take on Couture. Maybe Bodog is working on their own future secret mega fight...Fedor/Couture. $25,000 per fight...yikes! Fedor is fighting Linland? here sometime soon...have you heard about it.

Randy was the perfect fit for the UFC....Knowledgeable, respectable, good on Camera....on and on...

I like Chuck too....not really dissing him as much as I've just never really seen him tested on the ground. To that extent...not many have been able to keep him there. Personally I thought the Rampage Knockout was a bit of a fluke...but it goes with the territory. The Jardine fight...I love Jardine but that's a trap fight for Liddell...coming off the Rampage thing and then to have to fight someone you just saw get absolutely destroyed by Houston Alexander. Didn't seem like he was into it.

BJ Penn...That guy is the coolest! I hope he has finally learned how to get into condition...In top form he is hard to beat.

I'd like to see Liddell take on a 205 pound BJP type guy....Thought It was going to be Shogun...but boy did he screw up his first time in the Octagon. To me his loss to Forrest Whitaker was an unbelieveable upset. Wanderlei Silva if that's how you spell it....He and Chuck might be a good match. Then there's always Rampage who puts on a great show no matter who he fights it seems.

Mark Cuban has his own MMA org. in the works that caters to the fighters more so than Dana Whites UFC. Look for some big names to jump ship soon if Dana doesn't realize he cant run the UFC as a dictatorship. He comes across like he thinks there is no outside competition for his orginazation. But with all the money UFC has been pullin in competition will come, and be equiped with fat pockets.

The more competition the better IMO. I can't even sit through a boxing match anymore....the sweet science has lost it's appeal for me. I think this sport will have a long prosperous future. Hopefully Don King and Bob Arum stay out of it. :thumb:

I feel the exact, same way!

To me, boxing now just seems too slow. I do have to give some props to the recent Pavlik/Taylor fight. That was one of the best fights I've seen in a very long time!

Silva completely owns the Middleweight Division, and I think he's the most "unbeatable" fighter the UFC has right now.

I wouldn't mind seeing him put on a few pounds, and going up to Light Heavyweight. He certainly has the frame for it!

I really liked the Belcher/Starnes fight. Belcher looks like he might make a name for himself in the UFC.

How about Brock Lesnar in the UFC, huh?

I agree completely about Silva. What a beast. You sure wouldn't know it looking at him.

OH that cut/gash/split....down to the skull according to the doc. That's gonna leave a mark.

Yeah Brock Lesner...interesting....I recognized him from NCAA amature wrestling...I had no idea he was a wrastler too. I hope he turns out to be good. The Heavyweight division needs something.

Now that Randy vacated his belt, I'm thinking there's going to be some type of PPV event that will determine who will fight for the title. More money out of my pocket... :crybaby:

Brock Lesner is the real deal, and a complete monster on the ground. If he continues his stand up training, I see no one touching him in the UFC until he fights Fedor...that fight will be a classic. I look to see Brock as the next UFC Heavyweight Champion.

I'd like to see Dan Henderson fight Silva.

griztastic,

You had no clue about Lesnar in WWE? They made about as big a deal about signing him as they've made about any new person. Too bad he had to get stupid and try out for the Vikings, who never wanted him in the first place.

BTW, I'd pay good $$ to see the likes of Couture and Dana White get their tails whipped by The Pig.

I guess I'm just one of those lame people who don't watch the WWE. I could pick Hulk Hogan or Rick Flair out of a line up...that's about it.

If Lesnar is as good in MMA as the Grizomatic claims, then perhaps he should consider going by his WWE moniker: "The Next Big Thing."

Of course, if he's a washout like I expect, then maybe he shouldn't bother.

That's just it though....If Lesnar is good and does win...he won't need some moniker he had from the fakers. If he is smart he won't even talk about the WWE. The thing about MMA is that you actually win or lose in the ring...it's not pre determined.
