UCLA - Tennesee

Hell of a win for UCLA and Neuheisel. To comeback from 4 1st half INT's is pretty impressive stuff. Norm Chow upstairs playcalling doesn't hurt either.

Yep, best game of the weekend. PAC 10 had a good opening weekend. UCLA Cheerleaders are just girls that couldn't make the cut at USC.

Pretty fun 4th Qtr to watch. I watched some of the 1st half and had to run an errand, left the house thinking that UCLA's gotta put a different QB in - came back to watch the 4th & OT, that kid played a totally different game in the 2nd half, wow!

I was actually at this game! It was my intro to major college FB. Before this, the grandest stage I had seen was Wash-Griz (still think it's a very colse second to the Rose Bowl).

Anyway, from the tailgating to the fans to the CHEERLEADERS, it was an awesome experience. Nobody left, nobody gave up on Craft, nobody booed. The thing that really surprised me was how into it EVERYONE in the stadium was (old, young, everybody). If it was like this at Wash-Griz, it would be so freakin' loud!

I watched the whole game, too. UCLA never gave up. They have a never give up "D" w/ an offense that did just enough to win. :o ;)

CDAGRIZ, I played that golf course (well, 18 of the 36 holes) that you probably parked on. I thought it was crazy they parked there but it was in pretty good shape for being a "parking lot".

GRIZFTBL,

I was thinking the same thing about the golf course the minute my tires hit the fairway. The grass here is so much different than up there though. It seems a lot more durable. It really sucks to play golf on compared to the grass in the northwest IMO. Just grabs your club if you are at all steep coming into the ball. And the soil beneath it is so dry! Anyway, I agree that the course looked pretty good considering all the traffic on it.

I didn't have as much time before, but this is what I'd like to see at Wash-Griz:

Yell Crew: There are about 5-6 platforms on field level right in front of the stands around the Rose Bowl. These dudes get up on them and talk into a microphone which is connected to a kind of "mini" PA system which only that section of fans can hear. They yell orders of chants and such (think: 'Montana; Grizzlies' chant, etc.). They make it so EVERYONE participates. If you don't, they'll call you out, and you WILL feel stupid.

At certain times, a central chant/cheer is led by the head Yell guy. He gets connected to every section's "mini PA" and instructs everyone in the stadium.

Wash-Griz would be so amazingly loud if we had this! I would love to see this instituted. I guarantee it would be worth about 3 false starts per game.

As my score would indicate.
