Tweet no more, Griz Football bans Twitter

I assume this is just an "in-season" thing, as there are still players (who I believe are still on the team) still tweeting.

@the_realgk17 has 50+ tweets in the last 24 hours. Just think how good he would be if his arm was as busy as this thumbs.

The decision was made yesterday and isn't being enforced yet. Why are you following a rival football player anyways?

I'm not even on twitter. I just googled 5 griz players who I assumed were big tweeps, and 3 of the 5 were still active on twitter. gk17 was by far the most active.

Out of curiosity, how is this going to be enforced? I assume this isn't a student conduct code thing, so it seems there will be lots of grey area.

I assume you have some swamp land near Bozeman for sale too...

Jean Gee updated me with the following information: “This decision was 100% the senior leaders of the team. Then when presented to the team, it was a very high majority (if not all) that supported it and went along willingly.”

Like email is really old-fashioned. Really, Chris. There are more than a few of us on this board who well remember the MANY days and years before there was email, much less Twitter, Facebook and lord knows what else.

But seriously twitter is awesome and I hate when programs ban it from players. Make them put a privacy lock on it while their in school but dont ban it all together. Twitter is not a privilege to college students, its a right. Only people that should be able to ban them is the site's owner.

The coaches/school didn't ban them. The seniors decided it and the rest of the team agreed. I like it.

I remember my first email, and it wasn't to a computer, it was thru a web tv. Remember them?? Browse the internet on your tv? Some of my first eGriz posts may have been made on a web tv, LOL!

I remember when Atari came out with their first baseball/basketball games. Little square-blockheaded players running around the diamond/court...I was in Heaven, and remember thinking that there was NO POSSIBLE WAY that video graphics could EVER get any better than that!!

Yeah she kinda threw him under the bus. But it shows anybody can read your tweets and can use them against you.
